Chapter 110 - [Ch.02] Down Goes Santa’s Sleigh

As the Dark Elves prepared their devious attack on Santa, he was busy flying from home to home delivering gifts. Did I say he chowed down on a few cookies here and there, topping the cookies off with some delicious milk?

Time did not seem to matter. Lars, Moon, and Sunshine all had their arms up in the air, shouting "woohoo!" over and over. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day was their favorite day of the entire year...besides the celebration afterwards of another successful year on Christmas morning.

As the grey clouds began to clear up, the Moon's light began to clear. Because Santa and his tiny helpers were having too much fun flying, they didn't see the Dark Elves' sleigh approaching from behind. They were closing in on Santa's sleigh fast.

"Slow the dogs down James," Scooter said as he reached into his inventory to grab out a special, magic stealing, device. It was a small glass box, see through on all four sides. Inside of the small box, a small red block was glowing red, its light beating like a live heart.

Scooter set the small box down on the hood of their black, wooden sleigh. The white dust coming off from Santa's sleigh, was beginning to be sucked into the small box.

As Santa approached the next house, Sunshine and Moon hoped in the back to grab the present out of the big red sack. As they did that, Santa turned to look over his left shoulder. He looked down at Sunshine and Moon. When he did that he heard the civic outs growls of the wild wolves.

"Uh oh," Sunshine said as she looked up and saw the Dark Elves' sleigh flying close behind them. "Santa? We have a problem. Look!"

Santa turned around completely, letting go of the ropes briefly. Letting go of the ropes wouldn't do Santa's sleigh any harm as for the reindeer were attached to a metal harness to keep them secure.

Santa squinted his eyes. Then he saw them. They were stealing the magic that allows his sleigh to fly. Oh golly! Santa quickly turned around and grabbed the ropes. His next destination would have to wait a few minutes.

He yanked the ropes back as far as he could. The reindeer all began flying higher into the air. As his sleigh ascended, so did the Dark Elves' sleigh. Sunshine and Moon could see the magical dust being sucked into the small box.

"Grab the candy-cane bombs! It'll give us enough time to escape!" Moon said as she began digging around in the red sack. As she was doing that, Santa had other plans. His sleigh was being pulled by the fastest reindeer there was. The best of the best.

"Don't do that!" Santa shouted, "we can lose them. Keep them ready though."

"But Santa!" Sunshine said.

"Wait," Santa responded, "we can lose them."

As they flew higher up into the air, the biomes below could all be seen. The Plains biome, the Desert biome, and a Woodlands Forest biome. If you really concentrated your eyesight, you could see a well lit kingdom in the middle of the Plains biome. A tall, sturdy cobblestone castle could be seen, as well as a big, ferocious dragon. The dragon was sound asleep. What a pretty kingdom from above it was. Wonder who lives there. Hmm….

"I don't think we'll be able to lose them Santa," Sunshine said as she grabbed a red and white ball shaped orb out of the sack. She held it in her hand.

"Oh yes we can," Santa responded as he pulled the ropes to the right. In return, the sleigh turned to the right sharply. Sunshine, Moon and Lars all quickly grabbed a hold of something. The last thing they wanted was to fall out of the sleigh.

Built into the sleigh was a magic meter. The arrow was currently sitting in the yellow. It was dropping quickly too. Santa was determined to escape the ruthless, evil Dark Elves. As Santa continued to fly the sleigh all throughout the air, he paid close attention to the magic meter. The arrow was dropping fast.

Now realizing that trying to escape the Dark Elves was a bad idea, Santa changed the plan. He looked over his right shoulder and over at Sunshine and Moon. Santa nodded his head, giving Moon and Sunshine the go ahead to begin throwing the candy-cane bombs.

"Throw the bombs!" Santa shouted, "throw them now!"

The magic stealing box was almost full of magic. Earl and James were standing next to Scooter who was driving the sleigh. They both were growing anxious and impatient. Who would've thought that stealing magic would take this long.

No Dark Elf in history has ever accomplished what Scooter, James, and Earl had. There've been many attempts in the past to take Santa's magic. But sadly, everyone who did attempt failed epically….until now. With all of this magic available, what were the Dark Elves going to do with it? The possibilities were endless.

The magic meter was now in the red zone, indicating all of the sleigh's magic was almost depleted. Sunshine was the first one to throw a candy-cane bomb. As the bomb flew through the air and descended upon the Dark Elves, their sleigh began falling out of the sky.

"Gran onto something!" Santa shouted, "we're going down."

Santa was holding the ropes in his hands tightly, guiding the reindeer towards a safe spot to land. The sleigh banked sharply to the left, then to the right. As the sleigh got lower towards the ground, Sunshine and Moon and Lars all began holding onto something tightly. This landing wasn't going to be a smooth one.

The sleigh flew out of the Desert biome and back into the Snowy Tundra biome. Santa thought that by landing in the soft, undisturbed snow would cushion them.

Moon looked back up into the clear night sky. She could see the Dark Elves' sleigh flying away in a hurry. They've gotten what they've wanted.

The snowy ground got closer and closer. Before anyone realized it, they crashed. Snow flew high into the air, blinding Santa, Lars, Moon and Sunshine briefly. Once the sleigh came to a complete stop, Santa quickly hopped off of the sleigh. He ran over to the reindeer to make sure they were okay.

Thankfully, the reindeer were perfectly fine. Checking all of them once, checking all of them twice. Doing so never hurts to try, right? After doing that, he looked back at his severely damaged sleigh. Christmas presents for everyone we're spilled all over the place.

Lars, Moon, and Sunshine all hopped out of the sleigh and landed in the snow. They all walked over to Santa, not noticing the damage to the sleigh. But that changed fairly quickly. They all turned around. Their mouths dropped as they were in shock.

"How could something like this happen?" Santa questioned, "they finally succeeded with their plan. I never thought that this day would come."

"What are we going to do now Santa? Without our sleigh, we won't deliver all of those present in time before morning," Moon mentioned.

"I'm—I'm not sure," Santa said as he looked over to his right and saw faint lights. What could those lights be? A house? Or maybe it's a trap? "But I think they might. Follow me."

He left his sleigh behind and seven reindeer and his large sack of presents behind. He was trekking through the deep snow in the direction of the lights. Lars, Moon, and Sunshine all quickly caught up to him. They were curious as to where he was going and why.

The answer you ask? To seek out help. If he was going to get his magic back, he would need help. Saving Christmas was utmost important now. No young blockheads will go without presents. Not unless Santa has to say something about it. He was determined. Determined to save Christmas.

The countdown timer was now at eleven hours and two minutes. Time was running out. If Santa was going to save Christmas, he needed to hurry. Tick tock, tick tock.
