Merlin's TreeHouse
Jungle Biome, OverWorld
"Hope?" Leona questioned, "what do you mean?"
Merlin sighed. He picked up the book and showed the page he was looking at to her. She closely examined and read the page from top to bottom. She scratched her head.
"The prophecy's real?" Leona asked, "how could this be?"
"Those blockheads," Merlin said, "when I was watching them, I had this feeling."
"A good feeling? Or a bad one?" Leona questioned.
Merlin walked back over to the table next to the bookshelf. He set the book down, still open. He turned around and looked directly at Leona.
Leona was Merlin's significant other. They've lived extraordinary lives together, helping those who came in contact with them. Being, well...different from the rest of the blockheads wasn't easy. Especially when the first settlers arrived.
There was once an entire village full of wizards, witches, and young sorcerers. Merlin and Leona were among those who lived in that village. When the settlers' King found out about this village, he had ordered his army to destroy it. Back then, there weren't very many useful spells that could've been cast to stop the invading army.
Magic was still quite new at that time. Spells were being written back then. Instead of attempting to defend their home, everyone hurried and fled. Those who couldn't get away fast enough were taken hostage by King Miraz's army. Who knows what he did to those poor wizards and witches.
Oh and don't forget about the angry and ferocious dragons either. They, too, were once at peace. Living out their lives in caves located high above ground and deep within the mountains. No one bothered them, so they didn't bother anyone else in return. Believe it or not, the OverWorld was once a peaceful, perfectly balanced place.
King Miraz and his people were welcomed by many native blockheads. Merlin and Leona were some of those blockheads.
At first, everything had seemed exciting. Having new people arrive meant more opportunities for growth and friendships. But those far fetched dreams never came to fruition. Merely days after their arrival, King Miraz began his reign of terror. Traveling far and wide, from village to village. Raiding those villages of rare, valuable resources. Gold, Ruby's, Emeralds. You name it, they stole it.
As for Merlin and Leona, they escaped to the Jungle biome. Ever since then, that's where they've lived. Away from everyone else, and King Miraz. As time moved on, the Kingdom that once was King Miraz's crown jewel, collapsed.
What happened to his people still remains a mystery to Merlin and Leona. But why should they squander on that mystery when they could just forget about his wrongdoings all together? Would you want to remember something like that?
"A good one," Merlin replied, "I just somehow knew that they were the ones. The ones to restore peace and order to the OverWorld once more."
Leona's curiosity suddenly peaked. She was a bit skeptical though on Merlin's claims. How was he so sure that these two random blockheads were the so-called saviors? He couldn't prove his claim without evidence. All he could go off of was what the book had contained.
"Sweetheart," Merlin said as he slowly approached Leona. He held his arms out to her. But right before he could rest his hands gently on her arms, a thick cloud of red smoke blinded him.
Once the smoke dissipated, Leona had turned herself into a frog. Merlin rubbed his eyes. He then looked down at Leona and sighed. He giggled.
"You have to believe me," Merlin stated, "I know what I felt was a good thing."
Leona rolled her eyes. She was staring up at Merlin as he looked down at her. He got down onto his knees and reached out to carefully pick Leona up.
The frog she had turned herself into was a light green. It had yellow and black spots on it's back. Leona hopped over to Merlin's hands. She squinted her eyes at him.
"If you believe your feeling was good, then I guess there's nothing I can do to stop you, is there?" Leona said in a high-pitched, squeaky kind of voice.
Merlin got back up onto his feet carefully, still holding Leona in his hands. He shook his head from side-to-side a few times.
"I'm going to follow this feeling and see it through. If these blockheads are really our saviors, then they're going to need all of the help they can get," Merlin said, "I know for certain that they can't defeat Nora on their own. Especially when she has the Brine family on her side."
"It's official then," Leona said, "I can't hold you back. If you think what you're doing is right, then go. Find them. Help them. Do whatever you must."
Merlin faintly smiled at Leona. To be fair, she didn't believe that these blockheads were the saviors. For all she knew, the saviors could be anybody. From a newborn baby blockhead, to the average day-to-day farmer. But she wasn't for sure though.
"Thank you, my love," Merlin said with a faint smile on his face.
Leona could tell he wasn't going to stop until he found out for sure. She's just worried that Merlin will wind up helping the wrong blockheads by mistake. Who knows, he could be helping the bad guys for all she knew. The only things Merlin could go off of was what the book contained, and that weird feeling he had.
RIBBIT! BURRP!
Merlin was stunned by how loudly Leona had burped. He instantly caught a whiff of her stinky breath.
"Oh goodness gracious," Merlin said as he quickly set Leona back down onto the floor, "that's so gross! What did you eat?"
"I may have eaten a bug or two this morning while in the form of a hawk," Leona mentioned, "you can't blame me for—," Leona said as she suddenly stopped talking.
Merlin got down onto his knees. Leona was staring directly at him. He suddenly became confused. Why was she staring at him like that? He could only theorize what her intentions were.
Then Leona suddenly shot her long, pink tongue out of her mouth. The tip of her tongue stuck to Merlin's chin. Her sudden actions startled Merlin. He screamed briefly. Leona surely scared him.
"Get that disgusting thing off of me," Merlin shouted.
Leona started pulling to free her tongue from Merlin's chin. Merlin was not moving a single muscle. As Leona tugged on her tongue, it finally got unstuck from Merlin's chin. Her tongue rapidly retracted back into her mouth.
Red smoke then began swirling around her, becoming more and more thicker. Eventually the red smoke engulfed her entirely. When the smoke settled, Leona was back to her normal form. Merlin stated to her.
"What?" Leona said as she tried to hold back from laughing, "was that not funny?"
Merlin nodded his head.
"Gross it was, funny it's not," Merlin said.
Merlin then turned around and walked over to the table with the book on it. He picked the book up and closed it and then he walked over to his bookshelf. He raised his arm so that he could reach the top shelf. He returned the book to its original place on the shelf.
"You should get going dear," Leona said as she turned her head to her left. She looked at the window. From what she could tell, the day was approaching its end...and fast too. "It's starting to get dark out. Don't make me remind you again of what happens at night."
Merlin turned around and rolled his eyes dramatically at Leona. He knows what happens at night. There's no need to keep reminding him. Leona and himself were over four-hundred years old after all. They have been through many, many historical events.
King Miraz's arrival. The Great War. The destruction of their home village. And lastly, Nora's arrival. They've surely been through a lot these past couple hundred years.
"Now off you go," Leona said, "shoo. Scram. Go! Just be safe out there, okay?"
Merlin faintly smiled at her. He then walked over to the door that led out onto the balcony. He grabbed the handle and pulled the door open. Leona walked over to the doorway.
"Don't cause any trouble, you hear?" Leona questioned.
Merlin laughed. He turned his head to look over at Leona. After he did that, he transformed back into a brown feathered falcon. He spread his wings and quickly took off.
"I really hope he's right about this," she mumbled to herself.
As Merlin flew through the air, he swished around trees that were in his way. As he flew, he listened carefully for the sounds of twigs snapping and the leaves rustling. As he continued to search all around, Jake, Steve, Alex, and Eve were trekking through the dense jungle below.
Jake was leading the way. Steve, Alex and Eve were following right behind him. In Jake's right hand was a torch. As it burned, it gave off enough light to see. At least it wasn't entirely dark. That made things a little less spooky and scary.
"Where are we headed to Jake?" Alex asked.
"To a place I once called home," Jake answered, "no need to worry though. It's a safe place. We'll all be safe there for the night."
"What's this place called?" Steve questioned.
"TinkerTown," Jake responded, "a place where ideas turn into reality. From the blockheads who invented the sword, to the blockheads that created the minecart. If you had an idea, TinkerTown would be the place to go."
"Hmm. Sounds intriguing. You've got me interested," Steve responded.
"Why are we going to this TinkerTown place again?" Eve asked Jake.
"If Steve and Alex here are going to bring Nora down, they'll need the strongest and most durable armor there is...netherite armor," Jake said, "I know I wouldn't go into battle armorless. How dumb that would be."
