Chapter 7 - The beauty

After a few days~~~

"Do you think you'll be fine? You need to live in dorms. It's not like living by yourself. You will have to abide by the rules and put a hold on your mischievousness," James said as they sat in a cafe a few meters away from the University.

Evangeline looked at the large building from the window and sighed.

"Why do you think I am incapable of abiding by rules? You underestimate me, Mr. James," Evangeline said, and James hummed.

"You have my private number and also my secretaries number. If there's anything, we are just a call away. There might be times when we won't be in the city so at that time -"

"I should call the main house and if no one picks up from there, I should call your office branch and let them know E is speaking, and she needs help," Evangeline completed James's sentence.

"I have memorized everything now. Will you stop worrying now? I am 22 years old now," she thinned her lips in amusement, and James took the napkin before wiping his lips and looking at the girl in front of him.

"I am barely caring for you because I know what kind of mess you are. I hope I won't hear any complaints from you. Though SM was the one who arranged for your education, I am your guardian here. And though you have taken Jaguar and parked it somewhere, I hope you don't take it out carelessly. And no matter how much someone tries to get close to you, don't ever brag about your connections, okay? That will bring trouble your way," James said, and Evangeline rolled her eyes before picking up her bag and standing.

"Hey, where are you going? I am not done yet," James stood, making his subordinates who were standing and waiting outside, immediately stand alert.

"I have heard the same thing more than ten times. You have been repeating this for two days. I am already ten days late for University, do you want me to be late on the first day?" Evangeline said, and James sighed.

He nodded and let her go.

"Please take care of yourself," He said, and Evangeline smiled.

"I will. Don't worry about it. You know me. I have the habit of surviving the strangest situations," Evangeline said before she exited the cafe.

James looked at the back of the leaving girl and clenched his fists around his phone.

He wanted to drop her at the University gate like a guardian and help her with her bags too, but he didn't want anyone to think she was some influential or rich kid.

A normal life. That's what she wanted, and that's what he prayed for her too. She has suffered enough in the past, he just wanted to fill her life with happiness if he could.

"Shall we go, sir? We have a meeting with the San family," His secretary reminded him, and James nodded before sitting inside his car.

Evangeline entered the University and showed her registration form to the guard.

"Where will you take this luggage? Go and meet your warden at the girl's hostel first and get your luggage settled," The Guard said, and Evangeline nodded.

"Thank you. I will do that," Evangeline went to the warden, and with her help, she entered her so-called room.

The room looked simple yet colorful and full of life.

There were four bunk beds in the room. The three beds and portions were occupied with various things. Things ranging from a bra to video games and adult comics were sprawled on the beds, and she sighed.

Evangeline had read the profiles of the two high-class second-generation heirs along with a scholarship girl that she was going to reside with. She can only hope to get along with them well.

Evangeline didn't place her luggage on any bed and just left it in the middle.

She didn't want to be late for her first class.

She was majoring in Humanities to enter the entertainment industry with computer science as her second major because she liked the vibes and sound of it.

Her first lecture was on Engineering Mathematics, and it would start in 15 minutes.

She rushed to the computer science department with the help of the warden and rushed to the third floor where their seminar room was.

As she turned around the corner, she bumped into someone and winced loudly.

The group of friends, who were standing near the corner as they were saying their byes after deciding what to do later in the free period, turned around when one of their friends bumped into someone.

"He is always at it. Always bumping into someone," Ethan commented, and Aaron scowled.

"Hey, it wasn't my fault, I swear. It was this -"

"I am sorry. I was in a hurry," Evangeline said, and Aaron blinked twice to see if he was seeing the girl in front of him for real.

"No worries. I wasn't looking either," Aaron stepped aside, and Evangeline bowed slightly before walking ahead, sighing in relief when he reached the class in time.

"Did you see her?" Aaron asked with wide eyes.

"We have eyes, Aaron. Of course, we saw her. Who is she? She is going towards our department, no? Some new teacher's assistant?" Ethan asked, and the girls shrugged.

"Who knows?" Sarah said and they nodded.

"She is standing in front of the seminar room. Is she waiting for someone?" Liam said, and they sighed.

"Anyways, where is he? Is he running late again?" Liam asked, and they soon saw the boy walking towards them with a scowl on his face.

"Who turned off my alarm?" He gritted his teeth, and the boys chuckled.

"Let's not waste any more time and go, yeah?" The boys nodded at the girls who left, apart from Sarah.

"Guess what? Before you came, our boy here bumped into a beauty. And he was so shocked to see her face that he admitted his mistake and let her go without any ruckus," Ethan said, and they laughed at Aaron's face again.

Meanwhile, Evangeline, who was about to enter the class paused when she saw the message on her phone.

[Are you doing okay?]

It was the message from Senior Brian and Evangeline turned and leaned on the railing.

She kept looking at the message, rubbing her thumb on the phone's screen as if she would be able to touch the message for real and feel the care behind these four words.

[I miss you guys.] Evangeline typed after some seconds and stuffed the phone in her pocket before entering the class.

"Hey, she was indeed in this class. Aaron, your crush is updated now, no?" Ethan said as they saw the girl walking to the window side and sitting in the middle row.

"Why is she sitting though? Is she part of the class too?"

"I guess she is a student here. Many students arrive till the last of the month,"

"Damn, she is beautiful,"

"It looks like our Aaron finally has a chance," Ethan teased Aaron before looking at his friend who was playing games on his phone.

"Bro, there she is, the girl he bumped into. At least look at her,"

"I am not interested," the boy said, continuing his playing.

"Bro! Look at her," Ethan took away the phone from his hand before forcing him to look towards the girl.

Since they were sitting in the back seat, Justin couldn't see the face of the girl, and he rolled his eyes.

"Give my phone back. The professor is here," Justin looked at the girl, bored.

"What is so good about her? Are you sure you are not just hyping him?"

"You haven't seen her face yet," Aaron defended his crush, and Ethan wriggled his brows at him.

"See, look at him defending the girl already," Liam commented, and they chuckled at Aaron's red face.

As the professor started taking the roll calls, they quietened, not wanting to miss their names and getting absent like the last time.

"Evangeline W," The professor said.

"Here," Evangeline raised her hand, and Justin, who was playing games on his phone under the desk, froze in his place.
