Chapter 23 - Acting?

'Hmmm....' Evangeline smiled as she opened the box.

Everyone already left for their lectures. And though Evangeline was running late, she couldn't care less about it. She needed this time and moment to appreciate what was in front of her.

She looked at the first finger in her collection box and smirked. She grabbed the formaldehyde capsule, which was big enough to keep a finger inside it, and inspected it.

The game has begun, the game where she was the ringmaster and would make them play at her whims.

She locked the box again before taking a deep breath and placing it in the bottom corner of her suitcase before locking it too.

There is no way she can let anyone know about what kind of things she has come here for.

Ping. The sound of her phone vibrating echoed in the silent room, and she fished the device out of her pocket before humming.

"The work is done, E. I have sent you the video that he gave to the police. The poor guy still doesn't know who the hell he messed with," the message said, and soon a video message popped up.

Evangeline saved the video to watch later before sighing and exiting the room.

She better attend her lectures or she will soon be locked out of the college, and she can kiss her dream of becoming the best actress in the province goodbye.

Evangeline sighed before walking inside her first acting seminar with her cap intact as always.

She looked at all the girls who were laughing and talking to each other, and the boys who were sitting on the stage, talking about some random things.

She felt left alone. She was about to walk to the window and lean on the wall while scrolling her phone until the teacher arrived when someone held her hand, making her look to her left.

"Took you long enough, girl," Wendy smiled before she held the edge of her cap and pulled it off, making Evangeline widen her eyes.

"Wendy!" Evangeline's loud voice caught everyone's attention, and they looked at the new girl in the hall, Wendy was being playful with.

She was beautiful. There was no denying it. The way Evangeline's hair rolled down her back, straightening and reaching her lower hips, made everyone look at her in awe.

"This is an acting class. Our first acting class. What the hell were you doing wearing a cap?" Wendy asked, and Evangeline took the cap from her hand, stuffing it in her bag helplessly, making Wendy smile.

"Hey, Wendy," Wendy's friends waved at her, and she hooked her hands with Evangeline, pulling her all the way to the stage where the boys were sitting along with some girls.

"Say hi, to my new roommate. She is Evangeline," Wendy said, and Evangeline nodded at everyone.

"Nice to meet you, Eva. We can call you Eva, right? Your name is quite long," one of the guys said, and Evangeline smiled politely.

"Of course," She said.

"Well, we have some new pretty faces in the area now. I think the teacher is running late. I heard he got a meeting scheduled with the principal. Something about our star student not attending the seminar and only coming for the exams," The boy said, and Evangeline narrowed her eyes.

"He is talking about Bellatrix. The famous star student of the University because she just bagged herself a second lead role in some movies," Wendy said, and Evangeline hummed, not saying anything.

It was better for her this way. She will need at least this seminar's amount of time to settle back in this country and establish her connections before she can make herself known to her dear best friend.

There is no way she is going ahead with some lame-ass role. She will build herself in the meantime. It was a slow process, and she was all up for it.

"By the way, Evangeline, this guy here is Greg. His father works directly under the director and deals with minor cameo roles. You said you were looking for gigs in the film industry too to sharpen your skills, no? He can help you get some roles if they are available. Last time he helped that girl get into the role of a one-minute screening of a maid," Wendy said, and Evangeline smiled at him extending her hand to shake.

Greg held her hand and pulled her close, looking at her closely, shocking her.

Evangeline looked at her hand that was still in this boy's grip and she was second away from snapping his hand, friend or not.

"You have got everything it needs to become a top model," Greg smiled before letting go of her hand.

"I actually want to be a director. You should work hard and improve your skills. I will surely cast you in my film when I make one," Grey said, and Evangeline scoffed.

She stepped ahead and grabbed Greg's neck, pushing him back so he was lying on his back on the stage, and everyone looked at her shocked.

"Evangeline, what the hell?!" Wendy asked, horrified.

Earlier she had thought that Evangeline fought with Tina because she couldn't take injustice, but now that she looked at her, maybe Evangeline actually had a rogue personality, and Wendy didn't like it.

"You want to give me a role in your film? Do you think you are worthy of it? Who do you think I am? I am your God. So when you look at me, you don't hold my hand, you bow down to me," Evangeline said, and the boys were about to move to her to hold her back when Greg removed her hand softly.

"What are you doing? You are not even grabbing my neck properly," Grey looked at her, confused.

"Oh, you said that you want to be a director, and if I improve my skills, you might give me a role in your future movie. I was showing you my skills and acting. Do you think they were good enough? Did I do well?" Evangeline asked everyone innocently, stepping back.

Everyone - "..." Seriously girl? You were acting? Why did it look so real?
