After taking a long shower, Evangeline limped out of the bathroom, her gaze trained down at her feet as she didn't feel like she could face Mr. Alexander at that moment.
Alexander immediately understood her shyness and decided to not tease her about it.
He observed every movement like a hawk, ensuring she didn't fall.
With a soft sigh, she walked to the nightstand beside the bed and grabbed her medicine. She was about to pop the pills in her mouth when Alexander held her hand.
"You shouldn't be taking medicine on an empty stomach, sunshine," he said softly, gently massaging her skin with his thumb.
"Has your fever gone down? Come here, let me check," Alexander pulled her close before placing his hand on her forehead.
Though it was slightly warm, it was still ten times better than before.
"Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere apart from your foot?" Alexander asked, tucking a loose strand of her hair behind her ears.
