Chapter 4 - Chapter Four: Etheria

Five years later...

In a large luxurious mansion located on the outskirts of the Vafordë the capital city of Veridiania. In a room that had the grandeur fitting for a noble or even an Emperor, there stood a magnificent four-poster bed, adorned with sheets of red and gold, crafted from the finest silks. The pillows were made of the softest materials known to man, offering unparalleled comfort. In the midst of this opulent setting, there lay a sleeping baby boy, his jet-black hair and red eyes flecked with hints of gold hinted at a special destiny. He appeared to be around 5 years old, peacefully lost in dreams.

A vision of loveliness entered the room, a beautiful maid with grace in her every step. She approached the sleeping boy, gently tapping him and said with a delicate voice, "Wakey, Wakey, Master Cain. It's time to shower."

I opened my eyes, greeted by the stunning face of my beautiful maid, Ria. Her silky smooth blonde hair cascaded down her shoulders, and her shapely figure never failed to awe me.

Still feeling groggy, I slowly rose from the bed, making my way to the opulent bathing chambers that awaited me. I shed my clothes and slipped into the hot tub, or rather, a pool given its immense size. As I submerged myself, leaving only my head above water, Ria went off to collect my clothing for the day.

With the warm water enveloping me, I proceeded to open my system and check my status:

'Today's the day.' I grinned, reflecting on my handsome visage mirrored in the water. 'Today,, I shall leave my mark on the world.' Unable to contain my laughter, I proclaimed, "My fellow men, I offer my condolences, for it's not my fault that I am so handsome and talented." Just as the words left my mouth, I snapped back to reality, realizing my maid was standing right next to me, holding a stack of clothes and looking at me with a mix of amusement and disbelief.

"Oh, Master Cain," Ria chuckled, "You never fail to entertain me with your self-proclaimed greatness. But let's focus on getting you dressed and ready for the day, shall we?"

I couldn't help but flash her a mischievous grin. "Of course, Ria. Just doing my civic duty to remind the world of how lucky they are to have me."

As she helped me get dressed, I couldn't help but feel another surge of excitement. Today was not just any ordinary day. It was the day of my awakening ceremony, where I would finally awaken my talents and be able to us magic. With my hair impeccably styled and my attire fitting for a miniature emperor, I strutted down the grand halls of my residence, ready to take on the world. The maids and servants lined the corridors, gawking at my presence, their eyes filled with awe and envy. I waved to them graciously, feeling a bit like a rock star in a sea of mere mortals.

With a load of confidence, I walked into the breakfast hall, where my family was already seated. My father, Edward Von Silford, sat at the head of the table, his ebony brown eyes scanning the morning papers. His stern expression softened as he caught sight of me, his youngest son, approaching. Next to him, my mother, Maria Von Silford, exuded elegance and grace, her silver hair shimmering under the light. My elder brother, Arthur, sat across from my mother, engrossed in a book, his soft-spoken nature evident in his every gesture. With my two sisters sitting beside my mom my younger sister Amelia with her everlasting mischievous smile. and lastly, my elder sister, Claire, who commanded attention with her confident presence and cunning eyes.

As I took my seat at the breakfast table, a sense of anticipation hung in the air. The grand hall was adorned with exquisite decorations, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries filled the room. My family sat around the table, their smiles reflecting their excitement for the day ahead.

My father, Lord Silford, looked at me with pride gleaming in his eyes. "Cain, my son, today is a momentous occasion. Your awakening ceremony will showcase the magical talent that runs in our bloodline."

Mother, Lady Silford, chimed in, her voice filled with love and support. "We have every ounce of confidence in you, Cain. You will make our family name shine brightly."

I nodded, feeling a surge of determination. I would to make them proud, and leave a lasting impression on all those who would witness my awakening. But deep down, a small voice of doubt whispered in my mind. 'What if I don't possess a remarkable talent?

As the maids and servants bustled around, serving us a sumptuous breakfast, the conversation revolved around the possibilities of my magical awakening. My older brother, Sebastian, speculated, "Perhaps Cain will awaken as a Pyromancer, controlling flames with finesse."

My younger sister, Amelia, giggled. "Or maybe he'll be a Telekinetic, moving objects with just a thought!"

Mother smiled, her eyes twinkling. "I have always believed that Cain has a special affinity with nature. Perhaps he will be an Elemental Mage, commanding the forces of earth, air, fire, or water."

Father raised his glass and proposed a toast. "To our beloved son, Cain. May your awakening bring forth a magical talent that surpasses all expectations."

We clinked our glasses together, the sound resonating with hope and excitement. I felt a surge of warmth in my heart, knowing that my family stood by my side, no matter the outcome.

As breakfast came to an end, the time had come for us to leave for the capital town's square, where the awakening ceremony would take place. We walked through the halls of our residence, my parents leading the way with me by their side.

The maids and servants lined the corridors, their eyes filled with admiration. Their encouraging smiles boosted my confidence, erasing any remnants of doubt that lingered within me. I was ready to embrace the path ahead, to step into the spotlight and showcase my potential to the world.

As we stepped outside, the sun greeted us with its warm embrace. The carriages awaited us, adorned with the Silford family crest. The town's square bustled with excitement as people gathered to witness the awakening ceremonies of the young magic users.

As we settled into the carriages, my family exchanged glances, their eyes filled with anticipation. The question lingered in the air, unspoken yet palpable - what type of magical talent would I awaken, and how strong would my affinity be?

I leaned back in my seat, a mix of nervousness and excitement coursing through my veins. With my heart racing the carriages set off, making their way towards the capital town's square, where my awakening awaited.
