Drona keeps thinking about promise and Ready to go for panchal rasta to meet his childhood friend. Kripi Pack luggage of Drona who was going for their future.
Drona then started his journey to panchal.
Drupad is king of Panchal Rastra which is as prospers as Hastinapur,
He Studies under sage Bhagiratha with Drona who is son of bhagiratha, Drona helped him so much in studies that he promise drona to give him his half kingdom when he became king.

He reached panchal.He goes to palace and tell Dwarpal (palace gate guardian) to tell his king that his friend comes.
Dwarpal sees Drona and thought " Who is this brahman calming to be friend of king but as his duty he did not go into it and asked his subordinate to inform king about arrival of brahman claiming to friend of king Drupad."
Panchal king drupad now was in his Rajbhavan(palace) with his wife, He was doing conversation but interpreted by dwarpal.
Dwarpal " O great king of panchal, One Brahman comes to door claiming to be your friend."
Drupad frown and said " hahaha, My friend get him in, I want to see who have this courage to be my friend without me knowing."
Then dwarpal go out and take Drona to Rajyasabha (palace meeting room).
Drona became happy and thought "Drupad still remember me and our friendship."
Drona go to Rajyasabha and sees his only friend Drupad but after seeing him he frown and asked his mitra(friend) to come and hug him.
But Drupad who is now king think it is beneath him to hug Brahman due to his becoming king so there is gap in both of their status.
so he tell drona " hahaha, Drona friendship can only be done in same status now you see your status and see mine we both world a part. Friendship in gurukula was our childish action, Now world change and we both have our own role to play so we can not be friends"
Drona stunned and asked him " Drupad don't be selfish in this Greed which can be gone once you lose some war, Friendship is eternal."
Drupad " hahaha, Who can win over me who has this much Astra(divine weapon) and shstra (physical weapon)?"
Drona then tells drupad " Anyway, I Have come here to you to make you fulfill your promise to give me half kingdom"
Drupad couldn't stop laughing and says " Drona, I will give you dakshina which can be given to brahman but you want my kingdom for our childish promise? i will never give it to you"
