Chapter 44 - Chapter 44

He conjured two wooden cubes and a hammer before he brought down the hammer on one of the cubes that he had placed on the floor, breaking it.

Next, he opened the cubicle door and threw the remaining cube outside before casting confringo, which made the cube burst, leaving the pieces burning.

He closed the door back again and said, "Bombarda is pushes the target due to the explosion and does not guarantee the target's death while confringo just … you saw what happened.

Anyways… let's go back. This sphere needs some taking care of. Luckily Myrtle isn't here tonight."

The next day in the morning, Alex and Neville put in a knut each and entered the game board.

Neville looked at Alex who stood silently without moving a single step and took a deep breath before he used the only spell that he had been practicing for the past two months.

"Incendio!"

Alex sighed when he saw a small fire ball come out from Neville's wand and all he felt was the heat as it disintegrated before it reached him. He then shood his head and raised his wand upwards before smoke was spewed out of his wand, masking the duel from prying eyes outside.

After he was done, he looked at Neville who stood in one place as he tried to cast the fire spewing spell again. He flicked his wand at Neville's direction, disarming him with the expelliarmus. Neville's wand flew towards him in a parabolic ark before Alex caught it.

One more flick of the wand later, he began examining the wand while Neville hung up in the air, struggling to get back down.

"Hmm… Contrary to my expectations, the core of this wand is not unicorn hair. Interestingly enough, the reason you are so bad is because of the wood.

Ash wood and Dragon heartstring as the core… the user of the wand learns very fast but… the ash wood works well only in the hands of its original owner.

Your father was a great wizard, Neville. Unfortunately though, wielding his wand doesn't make you great."

"G- Give me back my wand, please."

"Silencio~" Alex muttered and Neville's mouth was shut for good.

"You need to accept the reality, my friend. Both the Longbottoms were sadly killed by the Lestrange… your parents suffered in their hands and now… they can't even live a normal life.

Meanwhile their son, Neville Longbottom is spewing out tiny fireballs like an utter idiot.

I'll let you in on a secret, Neville. You see, Bellatrix Lestrange will be broken out of prison by Voldemort soon. Oh don't look at me like that, please. Voldemort will- STOP FLINCHING!"

Alex stared at him for a few seconds before walking around him,Oops, sorry I lost my cool there. If only people feared my name like that instead… anyways, back to the topic… The dark lord is coming back and I feel like it is my responsibility to guide you in the right direction.

Oh yes, I forgot to tell you… I saw the future. Atleast bits of it… and do you want to know what I saw in the past few years?"

Neville nodded. While he wanted to get out of the place, he was also curious.

"I saw your granny being tortured for your whereabouts. I don't have the context but I saw her being killed when she refused to give them any information after three whole days of torture.

Poor old woman… tried to save an idiot like you, only to experience the same thing your parents went though. Tell me, did you ever try to get better at magic?"

Alex tapped his wand on Neville's lips, dispelling the curse.

"I… practice every day with Hermione. You know how good she is.", Neville said while tears streamed out from his eyes and rolled down towards his hair.

"She's probably teaching you charms and other basics. If you want to get revenge or at least protect your grandma, you will have to learn magic that is highly offensive in nature and to do that, you will have to change your wand.

If you wait for a year or so, I'll make you a wand myself. But I feel like it is better to buy a wand from Olivander before that.

I want you to trust me, Neville. If you don't, I can show you what I saw and also give you the same experience that your grandmother had before she was killed."

"I… I trust you." Neville stammered, more out of fear than trust and the moment he completed the sentence, he was back on the ground.

"If you do trust me, put your thumb print on this contract.", Alex said as he conjured a parchment out of thin air.

"Thumb print?"

"Yes, with your blood. Let me help you out…"

A nearby stone was transfigured into a sharp blade which Alex used to cut Neville's wrist. Blood dripped from the cut and while Neville stared at it horror struck, Alex bonked him on his head.

"Place your thumb on the wound and press your thumb at this area. If you delay anymore, you will die. Both here and outside. I created this gameboard after all, so I know how to escape its shackles."

Neville did as he was told and felt like he had lost something the moment his thumb touched the parchment. After everything was done, Alex healed the cut before staring at Neville.

"I'll give you a book and from today onwards, I want you to use it like a personal diary. Write what you do every day and also the things that Harry is up to.

Check the last page every day as you will receive instructions from me in that page. Don't depend too much on Hermione. She is good at certain things but she doesn't understand the concept of revenge.

I'll teach you personally when you get your own personal wand. Oh, and keep everything that happened inside, a secret." He said as he stressed on the last word.

Neville nodded and a second later, saw Alex pointing his wand at him.

"Wai-"
