The Rulers. It was the game played by those men in the park and It's just one of the many games players can enjoy using AR Glasses. The event we witnessed was their first ever Annual Tournament and the participants were required to dress in character as one of the tournament's requirements for there will be three winners for the Best in Costume aside from the winners of the actual event.
The game was launched last year in partnership of the three giant companies based in China. Their launching had even created news headlines all around the world as one hundred percent of their audiences that were coming from different countries of elite businessmen and investors, celebrities and some country leaders bought the game and it's set items then and there, and with overwhelmingly positive feedback coming from them.
Due to its accelerating market in a short span of time, they started a tournament in every localities of participating countries this year. I got extremely intrigued so I have been researching about Augmented Reality Glasses after witnessing their live game last month.
One of the spectators there was Pablo, a famous Toutuber known for his game play contents. I was at first shocked to know that he recorded the match using his glasses.
So these gadget is very convenient, you can't just play with it but you can also use it as how smartphones work like texting, calling, recording, web browsing and many more. These glasses have a great potential for dominating the market in the future.
On the video, I can see the actual game that the viewers with the glasses have seen as I specifically watched the match I have witnessed on the park. The magician man was called Elementalist, who was able to control and produce fire as his power, and the star player of the game was a Swordsman named Castro according to the Toutuber. They were the last players remaining on the match called FFA accordingly.
The Elementalist's Ice cream gesture was actually him holding his wizardy staff or magic wand while the Swordsman was holding a glowing sword and there was one time when Castro got slightly hit by the fireball on the leg thrown by the other.
So amazing, to think that even the sound effects of the appearing of the so-called magic circle, the fire, and the destruction of the ground when hit by the fireball, all can be seen and heard not just by the players but by the spectators with the glasses too. How were those even possible?
I can now appreciate the swordsman's skill who was actually incredible at evading the elementalist's attack, so sorry to feel embarrassed at the park though, I recalled while rubbing my finger on my cheek about the cringey moment of watching them with my bare eyes .
The gameplay was epic where every spectators and even Pablo the one who recorded the video breathtakingly awaits for the game's results after the player Nijah surprisingly threw another destructive fireball to the fast approaching Castro. But then the Star Player emerged from the smoke unscathed, sprinting and back tumbling towards his enemy giving one finishing blow.
The slow motion and editing of the video gave an immense excitement to the video's viewers. And that even caused me to look upon Castro so closely. He's got a jet black hair long enough to cover his brows fluttering with the wind. This man was undoubtedly an athlete giving him clear advantage on the actual combat, versus the elementalist who relied solely on his magic.
According to their official website, the game "The Rulers' " main objective was to search for the ultimate ruler among the rulers or the best players among the best. They were called Rulers because every player can gain or form followers or soldiers that can help them on many aspects. Every year's winners on each country will receive cash price and will play internationally.
I'm so glad to discover this new recreational activity. It's like my childhood dream was awakened where the world was full of adventures. Unlike traditional video games, this technology gives every player the freedom to roam around, the device was even lighter and more convenient to use. Another enjoyable way to exercise and maybe finally I can use this as a ladder to socialize properly.
Hmm , I kept on scrolling and saw another intriguing video, Things I Wished I Knew Before Playing The Rulers.
"Marian!" Mom called from below, I can hear her taking the stairs and reaching my room.
"Marian its here." Mom called again with excitement and encouragement on her voice as she knocked on my door.
I'm so glad Mom granted my request to purchase one. She also got super excited as she was also expecting the AR glasses we ordered online. I never thought she was that knowledgeable about the glasses that she even granted my request even with some budget constraints. The price was not a joke even on high demand, so at first I thought she would refuse me so I didn't raise my expectation, I feel guilty though for asking Mom.
"In coming!"
Mom didn't took the package herself as she wants me to be the one to talk and receive it from the stranger delivery man so I can continue improving my social life.
As I'm about to face the man, I clasped my hands together near my tummy and rubbed my thumbs for a short while then opened the door.
I saw the man smile for awhile but then I immediately averted my eyes from him and looked down on my feet.
"Delivery for Ms. Marian Salem."
"Yes It's me." I successfully replied without stuttering while showing my ID, and I smiled back without an eye contact.
The man passed me a paper to sign Packaged Received then handed me the item.
Unboxing...
"Woahhhhhhhhh.." I can't hide my excitement and awe. I can also see Mom in the corner of my eyes smiling as if sharing the simple joy I feel as I opened the very box containing the AR Glasses.
The box contains two wristbands, two ankle straps and other accessories. When we ordered them online a tip popped up that if my main goal was to play The Rulers, I must include the recommended accessories for best experience.
"Okay Rian, you can now set the device first as I go prepare for dinner."
I hugged my mom then kissed her on the cheek. "Okay mom , got it".
Now after following the manual to make the device functioning, some calibration and tutorials, I downloaded the game "The Rulers" and It was actually for sale for 50 dollars or about 1,520 in Philippine Pesos. I had no choice but to use small savings in my Z-Cash online wallet account than ask Mom for money, how awful of me to do that to her.

"Eh,?, So my device should have it's own data connection aside from Wifi?"
A few moments later..
✔️ Bluetooth
✔️ Hotspot
✔️ Wifi
✔️ Data
✔️ Location
Oh, so the game's internet connection solely relies on the device's personal data connection. And so I loaded a separate data for the gadget as the wifi has a separate function for the game.

▪️Disagree
Well I don't think I can play the game if I disagree.
"I agree" clicked.
This game's tutorial was almost the same with the device's how to use and calibrate instruction. First the game asked me to calibrate my hands, my feet, and my eyes' movements.
But the unique part started in the voice recognition calibration, that asked me to read aloud each of the English alphabet from A to Z, some English words, then some sentences three times each.
There was also an AI named SAIA with a voice like that of a woman who asked me to place the device in front of me. After following her instructions, the device's audio automatically adjusted so I can hear her even without wearing it.
"Please move a few meters away."
Oh? So smart, she can detect my distance. "Okay" I took four steps away slowly from the glasses.
"More Please."
"Uhmm, okay-okay" I took another four steps backward.
"Please Hold it right there."
"Please raise your arms sideward" and so I did what she instructed me.
"Please Turn to your right slowly with your arms raised sideward" and I did this too.
"Please Turn to your right slowly with your arms raised sideward" another turn again I guess after this.
"Please Turn to your right slowly with your arms raised sideward" Oh a 360 degree.
"Please flap you arms like a bird....., Please Jump....., Please sit..., Please roll over...., please spin...., please.... "
"Arghhhhh, finally." I fall back on my bed after a few moments of calibration. It seemed as though I had an exercise. Every player must pass through these before the fun huh.
These Calibrations are very crucial and important for the game to function well like tracking the players' movements, locations and items, in order to successfully interact with the game's system, like being hit with the fire, with swords or monsters. Some events or skills could have been easily activated when spell or certain words are to be mentioned unintentionally by other players if the system can't recognize the player's unique voice.
But the same calibrations are also very creepy I think, because the data gathered are very useful and personal, it can be used by Government or Syndicates to track everyone seamlessly, but then we can't use these kind of apps if we don't agree. Well I'll just hope for the best and forget negativities.
And now for the fun part. While immediately arising from bed.
+-+-+-+-
* Expect for the worst and hope for the best - is the correct way of saying the common quote, but because Marian doesn't want to think any negativities, she altered it, just let her be XD
Words of the day!!!!!
1. SAIA - (Read as Sah-Yah) stands for Super Artificial Intelligence Assistant that assist all players of the game "The Rulers".
Did you know?
The current Dollar - Phillippines Peso exchange rate ranges from 50-60 pesos per 1USD. But based on my calculations above, since we're in the year 20XX, the future. I am hoping for the Philippines' Peso to get stronger.
1US dollar = 50-60 pesos in 2023
1US dollar = 30 Pesos in 20XX
