In an office building in South Jakarta, Gilang sits with five middle-aged men in the waiting room. Gilang's face is the most striking of the six job applicants. Handsome, young and clean, inviting the glances of the female workers in the office.
A well-dressed woman approached six male job applicants. His face is flat without a smile. He stood in front of the applicants, observing one by one the faces of the men who applied for jobs to be personal drivers for the CEO of Baron's company.
"My name is Elina..., secretary of the CEO." Elina stopped her words for a moment, her eyes swept across the applicant's face, "Today's interview directly with the CEO, I hope you maintain your attitude when being interviewed by her. Got it!" Elena said firmly.
The strained faces of the suitors stared at Elina "Understood, miss Elina." they answered in unison.
Elina's face is tense, her jaw muscles protrude, she displays a face that seems authoritative in front of job applicants. "If accepted..., I will call your cellphone number, if I don't call you, it means that you are not qualified to become the CEO's personal driver." Elina said firmly.
"Yes, Miss Elina." they answered in unison.
Elina glanced at her watch, "The interview time is only ten minutes, don't beat around the bush answering questions from the CEO." Elina said firmly telling the job applicants and you could see the faces of the job applicants getting tense.
They stared at Elina's face while praying silently while waiting for the interview time.
"Okay…, sir, come in first." Elina said while pointing at a middle-aged man in a plaid shirt. The middle-aged man immediately stood up from his seat without saying anything, he immediately followed Elina who was walking towards the CEO's room.
Just 4 minutes later, the man in the checkered shirt came out of the CEO's office with a grin on his face. Gilang looked at the watch on his wrist and his face began to stiffen when he saw the face of the man in the checkered shirt walking backwards, followed by Elina.
"It seems that this man managed to convince the CEO." thought Gilang.
However, Elina's face was sullen standing in front of the job applicants.
"According to initial instructions, the interview time was very short and fast. Please prepare all your car driving licenses." Elina said in a slightly raised voice, then Elina saw the face of the man in the checkered shirt.
"Sir, how is this! Applying to be a driver but don't have a driver's license. You are so stupid!" Elina grumbled while tapping her forehead. Elina's words brought smiles to the faces of the other job applicants and relieved their tense faces.
"No wonder it's fast. HU…, makes my heart beat fast." said Gilang while wiping the cold sweat on his forehead and Elina smiled broadly at Gilang's words.
"You! Come with me!" Elina ordered Gilang while tapping his chest.
Gilang furrowed his brow, "Okay Miss Elina." he answered with a bit of nervousness and the two of them walked together towards the CEO's room.
"President Director's name is Nadine, still Young." Elina said in a low voice, and Gilang answered with a nod of his head.
"Good afternoon, Miss Nadine." Gilang said while lowering his shoulders a little.
"Afternoon…." Nadine said while lifting her face, and suddenly Nadine's eyebrows jerked upward along with her pupils widening.
"Wow …, still very young." Nadine thought with a gaping face, seeing Gilang's handsome face.
"Please sit down." Nadine said with an awkward body gesture, while her pair of blue eyes wouldn't leave Gilang's face.
"Thank you, Miss Nadine." answered Gilang while sitting in a chair directly opposite Nadine.
"Where's your CV?" Nadine asked, holding out her hand.
"This is my CV, Miss Nadine." Gilang said while giving her a large brown envelope.
Nadine immediately let go of the hook thread then took Gilang's CV out of the envelope, and she started reading Gilang's profile with occasional glances at Gilang's face.
"Your name is Gilang?" asked Nadine
"Yes Miss Nadine" Gilang replied with a pale face looking at Nadine's face.
The corners of Nadine's lips lifted when she read "Jakarta, 15 June 2000." Then Nadine lifted her face while looking at Gilang's face with a friendly smile, "Why can our birthdates be exactly the same?" asked Nadine with a smile on her face.
"I don't know, Miss Nadine." Gilang answered while shaking his head.
"Our date of birth is exactly the same, Gilang!" Nadine exclaimed with a beaming face, but Gilang only replied by pulling the corners of his lips.
"You graduated in 2018… what did you do for four years?" asked Nadine with a beaming face.
"Become a personal driver for the CEO of the Kencana company." Gilang answered spontaneously, saying that he was his own mother's former personal driver.
Elina glanced at Gilang's face and asked enthusiastically, "Miss Ratna?"
Who does not know Gilang's parents? They are a conglomerate with business octopuses everywhere.
Gilang's face stiffened when Elina said his mother's name
"That's right… Mrs. Ratna is the CEO of the Kencana company." Gilang replied.
Elina winked at Nadine while pointing her thumb forward, and Nadine winked both eyes, agreeing to Elina's signal code.
"Okay…, the private driver has to stay at my house, are you willing?" asked Nadine, continuing the interview.
"Ready Miss Nadine." Gill answered firmly.
A firm line painted on Nadine's lips, "Are you sure... Gilang?" Nadine asked, looking deeply at Gilang's face.
"Of course, Miss Nadine." Gilang answered while nodding his head.
"Your girlfriends will be mad." said Nadine with a grin on Gilang's face.
"Sorry Miss Nadine…, I don't have a girlfriend yet, I don't intend to have one." Gilang answered firmly.
A bright smile appeared on Elina's face; her eyes did not want to leave Gilang's handsome face.
"Opportunity for me." Elina said in her heart while staring at Gilang's face without blinking.
Nadine's eyes flickered to the clock on the wall, "I think that's enough interview." Nadine said while squinting at Elina "This is CV Gilang…, there is already a cell phone number on the CV." said Nadine while handing a brown envelope to Elina.
"Okay Miss Nadine, I'm waiting for your decision." replied Elina while receiving Gilang's CV.
"Thank you, Gilang, I hope we are matched." Nadine said while extending her hand and Gilang immediately shook Nadine's hand.
"Amen, Miss Nadine, thank you" replied Gilang with a big smile. Nadine's phrase 'Being matched' was not interpreted in a mature way by Gilang. He immediately agreed with Nadine's words.
Nadine was surprised to hear the crazy answer, assuring a match.
"Amen? Are you really serious?" asked Nadine with a serious face.
"I'm serious, Miss Nadine." Gilang confirmed the answer. Gilang doesn't understand that Nadine hopes to be his wife.
Both sides of Nadine's face turned red when they met Gilang's eyes. Cupid's arrow had stuck in the recesses of Nadine's heart and made Nadine unable to take her eyes off Gilang's face.
Nadine blinked her eyes quickly while erasing the desire to have Gilang's heart in her mind.
"Okay, Gilang…, I hope your statement can be proven."
"Okay, Miss Nadine …, I'm sorry to leave the room." Gilang said as he stood up from his seat.
"Be careful on the way." Nadine answered in a gentle tone of voice.
Gilang nodded his head slowly while giving a beautiful smile and then left Nadine's alone. Gilang walked together with Elina towards the exit of the room. He didn't realize that Nadine's eyes didn't leave his back.
"Why is my heart pounding so fast?" Nadine said to herself while watching Gilang's body disappear behind the door.
While in the waiting room, Gilang shook hands with Elina
"Thank you, Miss Elina." Gilang said while slumping on his shoulders.
"I'll call you later." Elina answered in a low voice in informal language, then she blinked one eye to give a love signal and loosen the stiffness from both of them.
Gilang did not understand the meaning of Elina's wink and replied with a smile.
Gilang immediately left the waiting room with a smile on his face, a faint smile graced his steps towards the exit of the building.
"Nadine is the same age as me, beautiful, but she is my business competitor." Gilang said to himself as he stepped through the main door of the office building.
Gilang stood in the courtyard of the building while taking out his cell phone from his trouser pocket. He paused for a moment with his eyes fixed on the screen of his phone.
Gilang's eyeballs followed his fingertips that were sliding on the cellphone screen.
"I have to totally disguise myself as Miss Nadine's driver, even though I have to live at her house. Yes…, it is my risk." muttered Gilang while looking at the toll road waiting for an Uber taxi to come.
A few moments later. A minibus stopped on the side of the main road and Gilang ran towards the car.
Gilang stood beside the car door. He saw the Uber driver through the open car window. He confirmed to the driver the correctness of the order. After getting the answer from the driver. Gilang immediately got into the car.
The minibus took Gilang away from the office building to his house, while waiting for a call from Elina.
