Chapter 9 - Alpha Xander’s Pet

"Pet, you say?" Her disbelief was palpable, her tone edged with defiance.

Her heart pounded in her chest, a wild mix of emotions churning within her. The very idea of being reduced to a possession, a subordinate creature to be owned, ignited a fiery anger deep within her.

She was a person, a human being, with thoughts, emotions, and autonomy. The notion that someone could simply declare her as someone's "pet" was an affront to her identity and agency.

"I'm not some animal that can be turned into a pet for your Master!" Lily's voice trembled with a blend of frustration and righteous anger.

Her words were laced with a determination to assert her humanity and resist this unjust declaration.

"Release me!" Her demand rang out with a fierceness that belied her predicament, her eyes blazing with an unwavering spirit that refused to be subdued.

Isa's expression remained impassive, seemingly unaffected by Lily's outburst. The woman's cold gaze bore into Lily, as if assessing her reaction.

The room seemed to pulse with tension, the clash between Lily's fervent resistance and the enigmatic presence of the woman named Isa setting the stage for a battle of wills.

Lily's frustration surged, her determination to break free turning into a fierce struggle against the iron bed that held her captive.

"Let me go now, or you'll be in big trouble!" Lily's voice resonated with a mixture of defiance and desperation, her anger fuelling her determination.

With a growl of frustration, she tugged and yanked at the chain, her efforts causing the metal bedframe to creak and groan.

"My parents have powerful allies who will rescue me from here!" Lily's words were a roar, echoing through the room.

Her grip on the chain tightened as her voice carried her unwavering conviction. "And you'll all be crushed and imprisoned, so release me!"

Isa stood unmoving, seemingly unaffected by Lily's outburst. Her gaze remained cold and calculating, the intensity of her black eyes seeming to pierce through Lily's resolve.

Lily's breath came in ragged gasps as she paused, chest heaving from her exertions. Her heart raced, the mixture of fear, anger, and desperation churning within her.

She had laid down a challenge, a daring ultimatum. But whether it would be enough to break through the enigmatic web that surrounded her remained to be seen.

"You're going to die!" Lily threatened, her voice dripping with conviction.

Isa burst into mocking laughter.

"My dear, don't dream too big," she said, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "Moonshadow obliterated your family, the mafia empire of The Evans. So, who will come to your rescue?"

"No." Lily's voice was a low hiss as she shook her head, her breath catching as if a lump had formed in her throat. It couldn't be true.

The events in the forest were too fantastical, too impossible. Her parents were still alive. They had to be alive. This woman was surely bluffing, trying to intimidate her.

Lily's heart raced as conflicting emotions churned within her. How could she reconcile the terrifying reality painted by Isa with the cherished memories of her family?

She was trapped in a nightmarish web, where truths and lies blurred, and she struggled to discern between the two.

Isa's taunts seemed designed to dismantle her resolve, to undermine the last vestiges of hope that Lily clung to.

As fear and doubt intertwined, Lily found herself grappling with the unimaginable—her world shattered, her sense of reality slipping away.

"Don't try to deceive me with your words. I don't believe your threats and I won't be intimidated by them!" Lily's voice trembled with a blend of defiance and resolve.

Isa let out an exasperated snort, clearly irritated by Lily's defiance. "Keep your mouth shut if you value your life, Miss," she retorted sharply.

Leaning down, she roughly grabbed Lily's chin, her grip unyielding. "You have one purpose here. You will obey any command from Alpha Xander and serve him for the rest of your life. From this moment on, you are his pet, so accept your fate!"

With a final, dismissive jerk, Isa released Lily's chin and sneered. "Our Master has been merciful enough to spare your life."

Isa then turned on her heel, striding towards the door and slamming it shut with a resounding thud.

Lily was left in the wake of Isa's departure, her heart pounding as the weight of her predicament bore down on her.

The truth of her situation seemed undeniable, the reality of being thrust into a world she didn't understand, under the dominion of a powerful figure she had yet to meet, a bitter pill to swallow.

As the echoes of Isa's words and the slam of the door lingered in the air, Lily was left to grapple with the harsh reality that lay before her—a reality that challenged her very identity, her understanding of the world, and her ability to navigate the tumultuous path that stretched ahead.

Lily fell silent, her emotions swirling in a complex mix. She couldn't fathom becoming a servant to the person responsible for her parents' deaths.

Tears welled up in her eyes once more, spilling down her cheeks. She curled into herself, crying in the darkness of the underground room as the memories of her parents' tragic demise flooded back.

The weight of their loss bore down on her heart, aching with a grief that seemed insurmountable.

The room's damp walls and the cold, hard floor became the backdrop to her anguish. Lily's sobs echoed in the confined space, a raw expression of her pain and sorrow.

The events that had unfolded had shattered her world, leaving her to confront a reality that seemed as cruel and unforgiving as the chains that bound her.

With remnants of sobbing and a flicker of hope left, she hugged herself tightly, calling out to her parents.

Her body felt small and trembled uncontrollably. Biting her own lip, she murmured, "Mom... Dad... help me... please," her hands tracing the iron shackles around her neck, bearing the etched symbol of a wolf—a testament to Alpha Xander's ownership of her.
