Chapter 5 - Chapter 5:

Roxy pov:

As the bell rings, all the students start ushering to their first classes. Abbie and I head to chemistry after dropping by our lockers and grabbing our books. The school day passes pretty quickly and I pull out my phone to text my mom that I'll be at Abbie's house. "I just let my mom know I'd be at your house. Maybe we can go for a run before your parents get home." I say to Abbie while walking to my car. It's a Red Ford Mustang to match my unique hair color and a beautiful black leather and wood interior. 2 howling wolves and the full moon carved into the wood and 2 wolves circling each other in front of the full moon stitched into the leather headrests. "Ok when we get home we should obviously grab snacks but also a change of clothes for when we shift back." Abbie replies buckling her seatbelt. After about 40 minutes with traffic we pull into Abbie's driveway. Parking closer to the tree for the shade, I park my car and hop out shutting off the engine. We sniff the air In and snap our attention at the same time to each other. We smile and take a deep inhale again. "Mmmm cookies!!!" We yell giggling at each other. We just about run into the kitchen following the yummy smell of chocolate and peanut butter. 'Auntie made heaven come down!' Lunessa purrrrs in my mind. I know I'm going to drool just thinking about them. "I made you girls cookies for tonight after my sister called informing me of your shift tonight Roxy. And Abbie you may shift too. I'm not sure." I look over at her mom my jaw hitting the ground and my eyebrows disappearing into my hairline. "How do you know about Abbie?" I ask my heart pounding in my chest. She sighs "I overheard you once when you were talking about your world." She says hugging her daughter. "How come you never told me that you knew?" Abbie asks stepping away from her mother. That's true, why hadn't she said anything about it before? Especially since my wolf is sacred. "I didn't want to get you into trouble for telling a human your secret." Abbie's mother replies shaking her head. Wow that's actually a little sweet. She was protecting us by keeping our secret, so well that she kept it from even us. "Oh. Thank you momma." Abbie says tears welling in her eyes and hugs her mom again. 'Hug Auntie, I'm surprised she kept it from you for so long that she knew. I really thought she was going to crack sooner.' My naughty wolf whispers in my mind. What?!? You knew and you didn't tell me? Wolfie what happened to no secrets? I whispered wiping a tear from my eyes. I trusted you. You lied to me. I wipe a few tears away and growl. "You should have told me that you knew. I'm upset that you would keep a secret from me. I'm more upset that because you didn't tell me, my wolf didn't tell me and she even broke a promise." I'm crying full on, makeup running too, at this point. I turn and rush from the room to avoid being embarrassed anymore than I already was. 'I'm sorry Roxy, but I didn't think it was my place to tell you.' My wolf whispers in my mind tucking her tail. I don't want to hear it Lunessa. She whimpers through our link. You promised me no secrets from each other and you broke that. I don't want to talk to you right now. I block her from my mind and stand to leave my hideout. I'm not shifting tonight. Lunessa whimpers again, no doubt upset I won't be letting her out. But I refuse to back down. I return to the kitchen a few minutes later. "You know what Abbie, I'm going home. You have fun on your run tonight, I'm not going." I say as I take a seat at the counter. I grab a cookie and take a bite, grabbing a plateful. After saying this I get up to leave. "Wait Roxy." Abbie says.
