Volume 8, Chapter Six: Return to Patrida
Finally, we returned to Patrida. Due to the Raptor Incident, I couldn't buy anything for Livia, so I asked Asanato's group to buy a large amount of food that Livia would like, and I gave it all to her.
Of course, I also gave plenty of meat separately to the Sea Serpents and Wyverns.
Afterward, I explained the events in Tayra and Yamato to Mr. Kazanzakis, although he had already heard about Tayra from King Sanshu I. Still, he was astounded by Yamato's story.
Colonel Kunito was also going to live here, and since Apolito had built an office and residence near Mr. Kazanzakis's mansion, we decided to live there together.
Princess Miyabi also received a room in Mr. Kazanzakis's mansion, just like Mitsuki and Murasaki.
Well, it's right next to my room, just like Aoi's.
Anyway, after checking various things, it seems that the business is going smoothly even in my absence.
After completing a round of reports and assessing the current situation, Mr. Kazanzakis, Aoi, Princess Miyabi, Mitsuki, Murasaki, Apolito, Colonel Kunito, and I were having tea together.
"By the way, I heard that the Savior is going to be replaced by someone called the Demon Lord," I said, as if I had just remembered, causing Mr. Kazanzakis to spray his tea.
"Huh? Can that even be replaced?" Mr. Kazanzakis exclaimed in astonishment.
"Well, someone claiming to be the Demon Lord said they would take over," I replied.
"Demon Lord?" Mr. Kazanzakis inquired.
"They are a demon king," I answered.
"Demon?" Mitsuki chimed in.
"It's another term for a dark god," I explained.
"I don't really understand," Mr. Kazanzakis said, scratching his head.
"Anyway, I was expelled from the Savior's party, so I'm useless there," I replied with a sad expression.
"Well, if the Savior herself was expelled, it can't be helped," Mr. Kazanzakis commented.
Mr. Kazanzakis remained as composed as ever.
"My journey as a merchant, which began after being cast aside by the Savior's party, and my revenge against those who abandoned me, are about to begin," I said to Mr. Kazanzakis with determination.
"Well, you've already achieved quite a bit as a merchant," Mr. Kazanzakis observed.
"And after succeeding, I plan to enjoy my time with my fiancées and strive for a fulfilling real-life experience," I continued, making Aoi and the others blush.
"A fulfilling real-life experience?" Mr. Kazanzakis asked again.
"It refers to people in the other world whose real lives are fulfilling. It's like a dream for loners," Apolito nodded vigorously.
"You, my future grandson-in-law, have extraordinary talents, but your dreams seem rather small," Mr. Kazanzakis chuckled.
"What are you saying? Even for a loner like me, achieving such a small dream is difficult," I replied while gazing out of the window.
Outside the window, an explosion unlike any I had ever seen before was occurring. It was so far away, yet clearly visible.
Could it be from the island the other day?
"What's causing that explosion? There was a similar large explosion in that area not too long ago, but this one seems several times bigger," Mr. Kazanzakis said as he stood up and looked out the window.
"Isn't it from that island the other day?" Colonel Kunito chimed in.
I wonder what it is.
I couldn't stop sweating.
One explosion after another occurred.
What should I do? My loner's intuition is screaming at me.
I need to escape quickly.
"They were here!" Elder Jurojin teleported in front of me.
"What should we do? Another hallucination?" I said, clutching my head.
