Volume 5, Chapter 8: The Burning of Guerda
In the place where the walls of the royal palace were destroyed, the Dragon King Gouou stood.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! What are you thinking?"
As it turned out, even Prince Pedro seemed to be unaware of the situation.
He's terribly shaken.
"W-w-w-w-what is this? Was it not a human?"
"Yes. Apart from this Dragon King Gouou, who was deceived by the savior in Alexia, there is no one else."
Count Rodriguez proudly declared.
What an idiot. If he says that the only one who was deceived is Dragon King Gouou, of course, Dragon King Gouou will get angry. Where is the person who says that right in front of him?
As expected, Dragon King Gouou's mouth twitched.
Prince Pedro was panicking.
"Prince Pedro, the savior deceived and manipulated this Gouou, but I believe you can do it too. Control this creature. If you can control it, you can turn Padrida into ashes with a single strike."
Count Rodriguez even further inflated his chest.
Dragon King Gouou trembled with tremendous anger.
Are these people naturally foolish?

"I understand! Count Rodriguez. No matter if he calls himself the savior, he's still just one of Yamato's royal family! There's no comparison between him and me, the Crown Prince! Alright, I will control this Gouou and turn Padrida into ashes!"
The Crown Prince proudly declared.
"As expected of the Crown Prince!"
Count Rodriguez applauded.
"Oh, this is bad. This is bad," Apolito muttered quietly, almost like a curse.
Dragon King Gouou fired a beam of light from his mouth, penetrating the intact walls of the royal palace, causing a mushroom cloud explosion on the other side in the city.
"How will you control him? Show me."
In a voice befitting the king of hell, Dragon King Gouou grinned.
"Then, I am Pedro, the Crown Prince of the island nation and the lord of Terra. Dragon King Gouou, listen to what I say."
Prince Pedro stepped forward in front of Dragon King Gouou.
"As expected of Prince Pedro."
Count Rodriguez seemed to be intoxicated by Prince Pedro's words.
Is he obsessed with himself or something?
This is bad.
And then, Count Rodriguez stepped forward in front of Dragon King Gouou.
"Now, it's time to kneel before Crown Dragon King Gouou, Prince Pedro."
Crown Dragon King Gouou lightly crushed Count Rodriguez beneath his feet.
"Noooooo! Rodriguez!"
Prince Pedro screamed.
Count Rodriguez was squashed like a mosquito and died.
But, it was quite gruesome due to his large size.
Prince Pedro, still unconscious, collapsed.
"Oh dear, what should we do? Is running away not an option?" I whispered to everyone.
"Wait, wait, wait!" King Sanshu I and Queen Uraka I and Duke Freitas desperately shook their heads, clinging to us.
"Considering the relationship with the old man, it's a bit difficult to escape," Aoi replied.
"However, if we fight Gouou, Teira will suffer immense damage. So, it's not an option," King Sanshu I, Queen Uraka I, and Duke Freitas clasped their hands together as if begging.
This is troublesome.
"If Teira suffers here, my future as a merchant..."
"Please, I'll take responsibility. So, please help us," King Sanshu I pleaded.
"But, we don't know if we can win."
"Please, help us," King Sanshu I pleaded again.
Queen Uraka I and Duke Freitas were also bowing.
I looked back at Aoi and Mitsuki, and they nodded.
"Well, there's no other choice, I suppose."
"Oh, are you saying you can defeat me?" Crown Dragon King Gouou taunted.
"Wyvern!" Aoi yelled.
The Wyvern flew above and tossed me a sheathed sword from the hole in the collapsed palace roof.
I caught it, unsheathed the sword from the bag, and equipped the armor hidden under my merchant's clothes for the purpose of fighting.
"How amusing. I'll entertain you!" Crown Dragon King Gouou yelled.
"Get ready," I said, drawing Gouten.
The blade emitted flickering flames.
"G-Gouten!" King Sanshu I exclaimed in surprise.
Queen Uraka I and Duke Freitas looked at us with astonishment.
"I'll borrow Wyvern," Mitsuki said to Aoi.
One after another, Wyverns circled the palace like a carriage, repeatedly showering Crown Dragon King Gouou with flames.
The palace started burning one after another.
The battle known as the "Guarda Conflagration" in future generations had begun.
