Lord Kara might be up to something this time, she could be plotting to tell the king about us, which we can't have her do, or plan to blackmail Fumiko, something that we just can't have her do either. She has us good right now, she figured out I am a monster in a few minutes

I opened the door to Fumiko's working room, walked up to her, and looked at the papers that she was doing, 1,2,3,4,5,6,10,40, too many to count

Fumiko gestured for us to come closer to her, she didn't speak but had a paper in her hand.
"So, Lord Kara, huh? She wants our help with monster extermination?"- Hana reached her hand to the paper and grabbed it from Fumiko's hands. The rugged paper reminded me of an old book cover.
"Yes, it seems so"- Fumiko's right hand which is holding a quill is moving across the papers that she is writing and signing, her hand motion is almost like a slithering worm.
"So, what are we going to do now?"- What does Hana mean by that? She looks more clueless than me in math class looking at calculus.
"Wait, this is the wrong paper. Sorry, Hana, this is the right one. That is a trade paper. The data section isn't completed yet. Let me fix that as well."- Fumiko grabbed the paper from Hana's hand and wrote something on the data section, I can't see the numbers exactly.
"So, where is the right paper? It said monster extermination on that one as well. Why would a trading paper say that?"
"Well, there was a section underneath where it specifies that these are materials from a monster extermination mission, look here"- Fumiko showed us the paper and pointed to the left-hand side of the paper, there it is written in big letters MATERIALS.
"Yeah, I see now."- I looked over the paper, on the right-hand side written in small letters there was a small text saying ^ For transportation monster material to Fumiko Welcia after extermination^, why would they do that, maybe because the society is more medieval than the one back home? Medieval society, where people thought witches existed, supernatural monsters.

"Hikaru, this is the right paper. You will see all of the monsters that you have to kill for her. Those monsters are stronger than any of her guards and you 2 are strong enough to defeat all of them. It will take 2 to 4 days for the 2 of you to clean out the monsters."- Fumiko put the quill away, stretched her hands, and got up from the chair.
"When should we get going?"- Hana asked Fumiko with bags under her eyes.
"Well, now. There is no time to lose, neither one of you should rest, you will go now and rest there at Lord Kara's mansion. You will need to wake up early the next day to kill more monsters for her. As I mentioned all of those monsters are of high level and dangerous for her guards to kill. You 2 better be careful there"
I and Hana traveled to Lord Kara's domain, it's pretty boring as to how we got there, mostly we had to walk for hours, and we couldn't take a carriage as we wanted this mission to be carried in secrecy. Lord Kara was already waiting for us in front of her doorstep.
"Welcome back, Hikaru, Hana"- She smiled at us, her grimace reminded me of a book character from a light novel I once read.
"How does she know our names?"

We rested at her mansion, Lord Kara was pretty cold to us the night we stayed, the guards were different somehow, they knew we were monsters but never mentioned it to our faces. They were friendly and generally amazing people to be with, some of them shared that they disliked Lord Kara and wanted a new Lord to replace her.
The next day we were getting ready, but before going out we made sure that her guards had all the equipment and weapons to defend her in case anything bad happened. We still need to make sure that she is defended while we kill the monsters for her.
We are now in the storage room with all of the guards, picking weapons for them.
"Those that stay in high wanted point, come and grab these bows, they are sturdier than the ones you have right now, you might need a bit more practice with these but you will get used to them. And also, change the arrow or replace the arrowheads and shaft from the current ones, they are pretty weak and will break easily."- I handed the guards 6 bows from the ones I found in the storehouse Lady Kara.
"Yeah, that makes sense. Miss Kara is stingy in expenses so we never really get too many chances to change the arrows or the bows themselves" – One of the guards spoke.
"Well, now, for the ones that use swords and fight in close quarters, you guys need to sharpen your blades and reforge them, go to a blacksmith and have them do that for you" – Upon closer inspection of their blades their edges where dull, maybe all that monster hunting that we did made them that way. Either way, it's for their benefit.
"Will do, sir!"- All of the guards saluted me before leaving to go and do what I told them to do.
I hope that this day will be better than the previous one, what am I talking about? Life has been better for me for a while. Maybe bury my old self and continue, doesn't sound too bad now.
I need to make a plan on how are we going to fight the monsters, they seem pretty strong on their own, and we need to make a plan on how we are going to fight them in groups, we are talking about Tree Guardians, Minotaurs, Golems and Hydra's, these are very high-level monsters that we can't take down as easily as a magi wolf or a horned deer or any other aggressive monster that there is
