Chapter 6 - Love

Mathis didn't run into any problem for a whole week and a half, the idea that there was something off was still in the back of his mind but despite all of this, nothing unusual happened.

The young man heard the doctor's car driving on the gravel ground outside, he walked up to the door to greet him.

The surgeon opened the door and stopped dead in his track seeing Mathis, as if this sight was beyond his wildest expectations.

"You- This- This is great! I never expected it to work so quickly! Ahahah!" he tapped Mathis's two shoulders multiple times as if to make sure he really was there.

"Huh?" Mathis wasn't sure what to respond to this.

"Ah... You know, despite her brutish looks, she is still a little girl at heart, she wants a prince like in the stories, not to offense you but I honestly didn't believe you would be able to win her heart, you're a bit... Fragile looking if I may" Mathis started subtly backing off.

"All of your predecessors failed miserably, it is good that you managed it, it is a shame for that so many had to be dealt with and honestly, writing all those letters is a hassle and it breaks my heart everytime I see their family, telling me how grateful they are to me for allowing their sons to accomplish their dreams, not even suspecting that they never left this manor" Mathis started walking back faster as Pi rambled.

"Where are you going?" he suddenly asked, his gaze locking onto Mathis.

"Nowhere, just wondering if- If I could go visit my family..." he said, not knowing what to add to make it seem like he and Pi were on the same page but thankfully, the doctor was too enthusiastic to let him speak any longer.

"Ah, certainly, you aren't likely to see them again after all, Aga doesn't leave the surroundings after all, even after I made sure those villagers wouldn't be around..." Mathis was about to shine a smile and move past Pi when he suddenly stopped him, putting his open palm against his chest.

"Mathis... Where is Aga?" he asked, not looking exactly amused anymore.

"Upstairs?" he responded with an involuntarily vague tone.

"I mean, you do know, she must have told you, where she is?" he repeated, putting extra emphasis in the last three words, as if they should mean something more.

"I-" his shaky voice must have given it away, the doctor grabbed his face and pushed him to the ground.

"Aga? Are you alright?!" he shouted up at the ceiling and three slams came back as an answer.

"You little bastard..." Mathis crawled while still looking at the doctor for a few moments before standing up, the surgeon put his bag to the side with eerie calmness, grabbing something from it.

It was a blade that Mathis deemed a bit too big to be a surgical tool, it looked more like a machete than anything.

"Sir! I really didn't know it was your sister, we can still speak right?!" asked the young man, noticing the doctor running his finger alongside the sharp edge.

"Certainly, why don't you come here so we can shake hands?" he responded with wide eyes.

Mathis ran off into another room, hearing the doctor running after him, the sound of his steps echoing throughout the house.

"Mathis, if you stop running now, I might not put a rat inside of your stomach and stitch it back shut, you harmed my sister, come and repent" spoke Pi as he suddenly appeared from the doorway Mathis was about to take.

Slashing his cheek in the process.

"Can't you just, let me go? I won't tell anything" pleaded Mathis, feeling a bit light headed as he looked at his own blood after putting his hand over the wound.

"That won't be possible Mathis, you hurt her, like those villagers, like our parents, just like them, you will get the fate you deserve" Pi suddenly rushed forward, Mathis instinctively grabbed a chair to shield himself, the blade embedding itself into the wood.

The young man let go of the chair and tried to run away once more, put the surgeon was quick to remove the blade, the chair fell to the ground and Mathis felt suddenly cold.

He looked down after stopping in his track, noticing a thin protuberance coming from his stomach area.

"Huh..?" he made a small sound before the doctor's grabbed one of his shoulders and the handle of his tool.

Twisting the blade in the young man's wound before suddenly pulling it out, putting force downard, thus cutting even deeper in the process.

"It had been a while since I killed instead of saved..." remarked Pi walking in front of Mathis as the young man fell to his knees.

"Pl-" Mathis tried to plead again but the surgeon wasn't going to listen, hacking away at his neck and twitching body until he had caused more cuts than bones in the human body.

One last hack at his skull, he left the blade stuch halfway through and walked away, covered in blood and gore.

Walking up to a wall, he pushed against something, prompting it to move out of the way, revealing a whole system of passageways behind the walls of the house.

He walked through corridors and clumb up a ladder before reaching a big, hidden room that was in no way different from the unhidden bedrooms of the manor.

There, laying on her bed, Aga was clutching at her neck, covered in white clothes that had turned red.

Pi walked up to his sister, carefully removing the clothes and assessing the damage, heaving a sigh of relief.

"Don't worry Aga, you're tough" he reassured her with a smile.

"We'll be more careful as well, until it works out..." he added a few faces coming up in his mind already.

"I'll find someone that doesn't shun you, a real prince charming"
