Hui Zhang, or commonly referred to as Concubine Number 5, had always known she was different. The fifth and youngest princess of the Elixir Kingdom, she was the only one among her sisters who had black hair and a matching pair of black slanted eyes – all the others were either a blonde or a brunette. But more than the physical appearance, it was really her personality that set her apart.
Growing up, her sisters enjoyed attending tea parties and dressing up for balls. But she found such events utterly bothersome unless she could talk to someone smarter than her – or at least, within the same range of intelligence. However, to her disappointment, she had discovered early on that there was an abundance of stupid or boring people – or both.
