"Well…. Here I am." I say as I look upon a large skyscraper now sitting dead center in the area of Old Pacifica.
After resting yesterday I made a phone call to Ms. Tsumiki, but she didn't answer but her assistant answered in her stead as she was currently in surgery with some high paying clientele, so they asked why I was calling and I told them I was interested in working at the AWG.
They asked a bit of Background info from me and seeing I am and EMT they scheduled for an interview the next day and so here I am.
Had to get passed the huge dividing wall between Pacifica, or should I call it Paradise now? Though I was stopped at one of the Gates that were surrounded with turrents and guys in mech suits with heavy machine guns in hand, I'm just glad I had an appointment so they let me pass with a one day pass here in Paradise so I can enjoy the new rich and classy atmosphere for the day if things don't pan out as they plan.
Not everything was built yet and things were still under construction but a few places were operational like the Huge waterfront Mall along with a few other buildings and a resort spa with the beaches cleaned of all the garbage with even the water being clear blue, I don't know how they did it but it really deserves the name Paradise even if it isn't done.
I calm my nerves and take a deep breath as I walk into the main headquarters of the AWG, as soon as I came in I saw the smoothed waxed white floors with beige walls as I walked up to the receptionist desk.
"Hello, what can I do for you today?" The pale blonde haired, grey eyed woman said as she looked up from her terminal.
"Hello, yes I have an Appointment for Ms. Tsumiki?" I said politely back, though I think she noticed how nervous I was which chuckled slightly.
"Your Ms. Martinez correct? Well you have nothing to worry about, Ms. Tsumiki is waiting for you, please take the elevator to my left and head up to the 5th floor, she will meet with you shortly." She said as I nodded before heading that way myself.
It didn't take long for the elevator to reach the 5th floor as I stepped on out and saw another lobby area where I sat down to wait.
About a few minutes later another pale blonde haired man this time stepped on out, "Ms. Martinez? Doctor Tsumiki will see you now." I nodded as I followed him as he reached another room before opening the door and letting me in as I saw Doctor Tsumiki for the first time.
'She's so young' is the thought that came across my mind, but then again you can't judge someone by their outer looks most of the time, especially the rich higher ups who can easily make themselves look younger like the Arasakas, excluding The Emperor the rest of the family looks like they're in their late twenties to early thirties when they are actually either in their seventies or even older.
"Please take a seat Ms. Martinez." She says while motioning to the seat infront of her desk where I just nod and sit down.
"I see that you are an EMT working at the Night City Medcenter, now I'd like to ask how you learned that we were hiring?" She said in a calm and collected demeanor.
"Yes well I got this from someone that took a delivery from me, he said he saw my EMT jacket and thought to just give me your card before he left to complete his delivery, though that was a few months ago and I actually forgot about it until yesterday when your card fell out of my EMT jacket." I was slightly embarrassed to admit but it was best to tell the truth, but hearing what I said she smiled a bit more and nodded.
"Then that means he must have had a good eye to give you that card, that or he could see how exhausted and overworked you are as well as me." She says with a nod as I feel even more embarrassed hearing that.
"But not to worry Ms. Martinez if you are looking for a well paying job that doesnt work you down to the bone then you have come to the right place, I do hope you have heard of the AWG's 'Second Chance' Medical Service correct?" She says calming me down before asking that question.
"Yes I have, it's even rivaling Trauma Team when it comes to plans and getting people out of dangerous areas while also bringing here to Paradise as long as they are apart of the plan and those plans are more affordable for people to own compared to Trauma Teams current packages." I go to explain from what I have seen on the Net.
"Correct, although the majority of Paradise is meant for the rich and powerful to come and have a relaxing and safe vacation the Medcenter that we have built connected to the HQ here is the only public area available to anyone a part of Second Chances Medical Plans." She said as she went onto explain.
"You are already aware with how deadly this city can be and with Trauma Team only caring for those that pay for there services Second Chance is considered the more affordable option for the common folk of Night City to have while providing premium services as well, and since you are an EMT I'd like to go over the things you would be apart of and things that are given to our employees." She said before we began to discuss terms of my employment.
Seems like I have the job already, and I hope this is a brand new start for me and my son.

"I'm home…." I say while trying to keep calm as I come back to my apartment as I heard my son come out of his room.
"Mom? How'd it go?" He asked but when I saw I walked up to him and held his face.
"Oh Davvy, did you get into a fight again?" I said as I looked at the bandaged up areas on his face along with the large bruise on his cheek.
"It-its nothin so don't worry about it Ma, anyway how did the interview go? Did you get the job?" He asks while dodging the question, but I let it be as I smile at him.
"Yes! I got the job! Only 50 hours a week with two days off weekly and I get paid twice what I'm getting paid at the Medcenter! And even better kiddo is that I got us a nice apartment in Paradise for us to move and live in as one of the perks of the job! Plus you don't have to worry about all those jerks at your school as I've got you a free scholarship at AWG Academy instead! Davvy we are set for life!" I said all excited like as I held him in my arms while he hugged me tightly in response.
This was the third happiest day of my life and now I don't need to worry about mine and my son's future as a result.
It seems that Fortune is finally smiling on us Martinez's to have a good life from now on.

Might be the only chapter for today, have to head to my cousins wedding so I don't know if I can post another chapter later on as a result but we will have to wait and see.
