Chapter 196 - Skills of the Ultimate Gambler (8)

Setting the deck to the side Runa came over to shuffle the deck as even though she is part of the student council she is also the leader of the election committee and thus being part of said committee she needs to be impartial in all things as she referees the most important matches for the school that decide who becomes the next student council president along with other positions in the student council as well.

So she took the cards and began to shuffle them several times over all while Celestia had her eyes closed, not something she needed to do but more to prove a point that she will know which card is which without even looking.

So after shuffling like normal as well as tumbling the cards by spinning them to put them in either upwards or their reversed positions as she placed the deck in front of Celestia who opened her eyes before touching the top card without hesitation whatsoever.

"The Fool Reversed." She simply said before revealing the card to indeed be The Fool in the reversed position, surprising the others while gaining more of Kirari's intrigue by the second.

"The Emperor"

"High Priestess"

"Hanged Man Reversed"

"The Tower"

"The World Reversed"

"The Hierophant"

"The Star Reversed"

"The Hermit"

"The Magician."

"The Chariot Reversed."

This went on as Kirari's eyes kept glowing as her smile couldn't help but get wider with each correct one Celestia was saying, but the same couldn't be said about her secretary Sayaka who was silently sweating hard at the sight of every correct guess.

Reason being is that she was the one that secretly marked the cards in a way that Kirari was only meant to notice but she never though Celestia would be able to see the marks that she had made on those cards in the first place.

"…. And lastly Death Reversed, and would you look at that, I guessed all 21 cards correctly, looks like this is my win." Celestia says calmly as if it was just a matter of fact that she would win this bet of theirs.

*Clap Clap Clap*

"Bravo, I must say I might have some slight doubts about you being able to see through all the cards we had here in play, but I guess you didn't earn the title as Ultimate gambler for nothing, though tell me, what is it exactly that gave it away?" Kirari said after clapping as she leaned forward with a clear look of interest as to how the cheat, that she wasn't aware of to begin with, was even found out.

Seeing that Kirari wasn't too torn up about losing Celestia chuckled slightly, "It's nothing really, it's something that I hated as a kid but by now I've just gotten used to it, I have accute monochromia, specifically on paper based materials, and because of that anything that is inked on paper looks interested to me, the paper is black and the ink is white." She said without minding as she could see herself getting along with Kirari as professional gamblers that they are.

Hearing this Kirari nodded her head, "I see, so if everything thing is inversed-"

"-Then invisible ink becomes Visible Ink in my eyes, so I could see the ink and what numbers they were supposed to be based upon the numbers written on the back that correlated with the numbers on front, if you were to cheat using that you'd either need a special set of glasses or possibly contacts that allows you to see invisible ink, but you clearly had neither but I could see them and thus I knew every card that was marked, but I refuse to use someone else's cheats against them unless they truly earned my ire, to which you didn't." Celestia said laying it all out there to see.

Hearing that Kirari chuckled, "Celestia, you know if you were apart of my school, I would have gladly invited someone of your caliber into my Student Council, and if your alright with it, I am hoping to become your friend as I see us as equals you and I." Kirari offered to her to which Celestia smiled slightly.

"Oh, I would like that very much, now then how about another game of gambling, though let's put our skills to the test and see who really is the better gambler." Celestia said as she signaled the beginning of her final match at Hyakkaou Private Academy.

But that's a story for another time, because who cares anyway? Isn't Hifumi the protagonist anyway?

(Edit)(N) Wait a minute…. I didn't write that, who's messing with my…. Shinigami….

*****

Looking at her, she reminded me a lot of 3 back in my last life, out of all of those girls she was the only one who always show her crazy side, no matter the situation as more and more of my locked away memories returned to me overtime….

Extremely sadistic and always enjoyed slowly torturing her targets as she made them scream a symphony of pain giving her the title of the 'Musician of Pain' though she didn't like that name that the others gave her, then again all of us didn't really like the titles that they all gave us, either from our bosses or other members of the syndicate outside our squad.

And like a fog I even remembered what she looked like, and certainly not because the author just finally had a chance to make a pic of her.

(Edit)(N) I don't know how she got into my account but now she's adding her little tidbits to the story and she just re-adds them even after I delete them, I'll try and stop her as much as I can if this starts hurting the story from her breaking the fourth wall like DeadPool or some shit.

"For some reason I get this feeling that your only interested in playing dangerous games." I say after putting my phone away as I watched her twirl her revolver.

"You could say something like that, what really got me interested was how you ruthlessly defeated Yuriko at her own game, and maybe something else I can't quite put my finger on." She says pressing side of the gun up against her head as she was thinking about it.

"I think it's cause of your unfortunate luck of attracting crazy women, after all half your current girlfriends are liable to stab, bite or shoot you if you pissed them off." Shinigami said just to irritate me as we hear a the sounds of a helicopter approaching.

Soon enough it flew over head and hovered over the roof before dropping the crate that it had been carrying over with a loud thud before flying away.

"Well I doubt I'd get you off my case if we don't play a game, and since you want something dangerous then let's play a dangerous game." I say kicking the large crate where the crate opens up to reveal the full game we shall play.

"Let's play a deadly game of Blackjack." And not just any deadly game of Blackjack but the game of 21 from the Resident Evil Series.
