Aldrich looked around to see the entire stage destroyed, with only him and Carl present on the battle stage.
"His strength exceeds my expectations. I had seen Arnold use it, but even he couldn't utilize the shield to this extent" he looked over to Carl, who had exhausted all his mana and was kneeling on the ground, gasping for breath.
"You did well", he patted Carl's head.
"You… better give me answers", Carl said before passing out.
Aldrich noticed as the shield turned into mana particles before entering Carl's body.
"The shield chose him as the owner", he smiled.
Suddenly, teachers and students jumped down from the stands, supporting the injured participants, while a few peeked towards Aldrich and the figure of the man who had caused this much damage and was lying unconscious on the ground.
"Lumi, help", Aldrich sent a signal to Lumi, as she secretly sent gentle waves of healing light, improving Carl's condition before healers could take him away.
