In the heart of a desolate battlefield, A young man lay battered and wounded, his breaths shallow and laboured. The clash with the forces of darkness had taken its toll, and he knew his strength was waning. As the sun dipped below the horizon, a sinister figure emerged from the shadows, its towering form casting a foreboding presence over the fallen warrior—a Count Dragon.
With scales as black as midnight, the Count Dragon spread its massive wings, its eyes burning with an unsettling mix of intelligence and malevolence. It regarded Killian with an air of amusement, impressed by the warrior's unwavering bravery even in imminent demise.
As the Count Dragon loomed over him, Killian raised his head, meeting the creature's gaze with a glint of defiance in his eyes. Despite his battered body, he refused to submit to fear.
"You are a curious specimen," the Count Dragon rumbled, its voice resonating with power. "Mortals are often eager to defy death, fighting valiantly even when hope has long abandoned them."
"I commend you for your bravery in standing against the mighty Dragons. Tell me your name, human",
Dragons were prideful creatures, they considered all the races below them, yet this man could resist their might to this extent.
"haha", a young man was lying on the ground. His lower half was battered as he rested on the rock.
"Only a Dragon Count. This was the extent of my abilities". The young man was the only human alive in the entire world.
The world changed 10 years ago. The Dragons waged war against the human race, set on destroying the entire race and ruling over the planet.
Countless Warriors and Mages stood against the dragons, putting up a resistance against the Mighty Creatures, but to no avail.
Most of the Warriors died without even touching the Dragon. The remaining died trying to survive the onslaught of the Dragon race. Humanity had weakened too much due to the infighting and greedy nature of the race.
Only one survived; Killian, the Strongest warrior of humanity, single-handedly killed numerous Dragons, being the sole survivor against the Dragons.
The Strongest Warrior was now on his last breath, unable to survive the attacks of the Dragon Count. He lay against a rock, gripping his half-broken sword.
Suddenly a bright light flashed over the entire region as if a majestic being had descended over the now-destroyed planet.
"why, why, why, WHY NOW" Killian roared, "WHY ARE YOU COMING DOWN NOW".
"Silence", the descending Angel calmly said.
"You should be grateful, for the gods have again caught interest in your lowly world."
All contact with the Gods had stopped when the Dragons attacked, severely reducing the strength of the human race.
"The gods would like to offer you a chance. A chance to go back in time and try to fight against the adversities with the strength of god, You-"
"If you are that interested in humans, why did you turn your back on us when we needed you the most?" Killian said, resisting the spell of the Angel.
"Interesting, no wonder the gods are interested, And you are incorrect, human; the gods don't care about humans; they only want you to entertain them."
"So tell me, what will your decision be" the Angel slowly descended towards Killian.
Killian mustered his energy, trying to stand up. He slowly walked towards the Angel.
"Good choice, human", the Angel smiled, lending her hand to Killian.
-slash-
"Fuck off", Killian gathered all his energy, slashing his sword towards the Angel.
"How impertinent" The Angel stopped the attack with two fingers, breaking the sword.
"Poor choice, human, you shall come to regret it",
The Angel noticed that her finger had started to bleed.
"A mere human could?" the Angel tried to inspect Killian closer, only for Killian to spit in her face.
"Fascinating, You're not entirely a human.", the Angel said with a look of disdain.
"What do you mean ?" Killian was furious. He wanted to kill the Angel, yet he knew he was weak.
Suddenly an intense Aura rushed towards the group, alarming the Dragon and the Angel.
"Why not join me?", It was the Demon God. "I will give you power far exceeding any being on the planet. You can kill Dragons with a flick ", The Demon God said with a smirk, looking at the Dragon and the Angel.
"Don't Interrupt the work of Gods, you Demon", the Angel said with disdain.
"Join me",
"Join me",
"Join me",
Voices started to endlessly speak inside Killian's head.
Suddenly, the voices stopped. Killian opened his eyes to discover he was no longer on the Desolate Battlefield. He was floating in a mysterious dark space.
"Do you want a second chance?" a calm, ancient voice spoke.
"who…are you?",
"An Outer god. Answer me, Do you want a second chance, a chance to save the ones you loved. A chance to save her. To find your true identity?"
The face of a woman suddenly flashed through Killian's eyes, remembering all the time he had spent with her.
"Aria", Killian spoke with a calm smile.
Killian remembered all the time he had spent with the love of his life. Before, she was ruthlessly murdered by those Dragons.
"send me back.", Killian said with a determined look, ready to save the people he cherished.
"You will gain the enmity of the Dragons, Demons and Gods alike. Do you still want to go back in time?" the ancient voice said again.
"It has always been like that" Killian remembered the times he had to go against the greedy nobles, the time he had to kill the king who couldn't defend against the Dragon attacks when he was the sole human left to fight against the Dragons.
"May you succeed, human, or should I say Outer",
Killian's eyes went dark.
He opened his eyes to find himself in an unfamiliar environment.
"Where.. am I?" Killian stood up, trying to make sense of the room he was in.
It was a vast and lavish room with all the facilities one could ask for.
"This is not the Orphanage?" Killian was on guard, believing he might be under the mind hex of some god.
He walked towards the mirror, noticing a familiar face in the mirror,
"Aldrich?"
Killian realized that he had regressed as the heir of the Drakewind family, Aldrich Drakewind.
