Laurel stopped in front of Ava's house and stepped out headed up the porch steps to go see her friend. Getting to the door, she punched in the unlock pin on the keypad and the door unlocked.
"Ava," she called as she walked in but got no answer.
She walked into the sitting room, looked around but saw no one. Then she headed straight to the bedroom where she saw Ava lying helplessly on the bed staring into space.
"Hey," she called with concern and Ava was startled and stared at her in an almost confused state, "don't tell me you've been like this since morning."
"Hi, Lau." Ava greeted. "You didn't tell me you're on the way already."
"Let's see..." Laurel said bringing out her phone to scroll through it, "I gave you like 5 missed calls with no response. So how do I inform you I'm coming if you aren't picking up?"
