After dinner, David and Laurel spent some time with their daughter. Both trying to work along and not draw attention to the friction between them. They had already agreed beforehand that they'd not do things that'd show off that they were in the marriage for the wrong reasons, in order to avoid Nicole asking too many questions or feeling bad.
By the time Nala came to announce that it was bedtime for Nicole and take her to her room, both parents were more than happy to let their daughter go. They both kissed Nicole goodnight and watched as Nala took her into her room.
Once she was sure that Nicole was safely in her room, Laurel walked down to her jewelry studio to work on some new designs she'd thought of and also start up work on Andre's order.
As she was settling down to start up work proper, David knocked on the door and waltzed in without her saying anything although he wanted to.
