Chapter 1 - Where Am I?

An 18-year-old teen could be seen browsing through the shelves of a convenience store, clad in a black tracksuit. His groggy eyes were evidence that he hadn't slept in three days.

As you already know, the boy's name is 'Suba...'

"Are you joking? That's not my name. I'm Elisha," he corrected himself aloud, unintentionally startling the store clerk from his slumber. "Though our hair is black, our faces are different," he added.

'Huh, did I say something?' Confused by his own outburst, Elisha wondered if he had shouted. Moments before, his memories had been mysteriously erased by some unknown force. (The Author :)

Outside the store,

The full moon illuminated the area, casting a tranquil radiance that brought relief to the sleeping townspeople. The quietness enveloped the surroundings, signaling that it was 11 PM at night.

Inside the convenience store, silence reigned, broken only by the faint sound of an English pop song emanating from the clerk's phone.

After three minutes, Elisha approached the cashier and handed over his selected items—a cup of noodles and a bag of potato chips.

As the clerk finished scanning the items, he handed Elisha the receipt and his change. In a hoarse voice, Elisha said, "You can keep the change," his voice was due to his countless hours spent gaming and his frustrations with his teammates.

Exiting the store, Elisha waited for the pedestrian light to turn green. Suddenly, a shrill laugh echoed in his mind. Startled, he paused, considering whether it was just a product of his drowsiness. "Maybe I'm hearing things due to my lack of sleep," he thought.

As he raised his hand to rub his eyes, he remembered a similar occurrence happening to a guy in an orange tracksuit, who found himself teleported to another world after rubbing his eyes. After a brief moment of contemplation, Elisha withdrew his hand, not wanting to share the same fate. 'Although, he got himself a beauty, but the sheer thought of those brutal scenes...'he shuddered at the thought, then he took a step forward to cross the street.

Unbeknownst to Elisha, an over-speeding truck raced toward him. Lost in his thoughts, he failed to notice the impending danger. It was only when he saw the truck hurtling toward him that he froze, his legs too weak to move. "Am I destined to share the same fate as that boy?" he wondered.

The truck driver was momentarily stunned by the sight of the boy in front of him. A split second was all it took for him to realize the imminent collision. Desperately attempting to hit the brakes, his efforts proved futile.

In a sudden turn of events, the front tire of the truck burst, causing it to swerve toward the traffic lights. Thankfully, the driver remained unharmed due to the protection of the airbag.

Lost in his thoughts, Elisha had anticipated that the truck would end his life, transporting him to another world. "I had hoped to be reincarnated into a peaceful fantasy world like that guy who could cook and tame legendary beasts," he mused.

However, to his disappointment, the truck narrowly missed him and instead collided with the adjacent traffic light. Elisha's initial disappointment faded as he realized he didn't actually desire to be summoned or reincarnated into a perilous and unpredictable world. He let out a sigh, feeling a sense of relief wash over him, and turned his attention to the driver.

Despite wanting to move, Elisha found himself unable to do so, his legs frozen in place. He attempted to retrieve his phone from his pocket but realized he had left it behind.

Inside the store,

The clerk heard a loud thud and witnessed the truck colliding with the traffic light. Observing the boy frozen in place, eyes closed, as if resigned to his impending death, the clerk muttered, "Lucky him."

Dialing the emergency number on his phone, the clerk reported the incident. He ventured outside to assess the condition of the driver and breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing that they were unharmed. Reluctant to involve himself further and exacerbate the situation, the clerk decided to wait for the authorities to arrive.

The clerk instinctively investigated the cause of the truck's swerve, leading him to discover that the front wheel was missing. Perceiving the absence of the tire as highly unusual, the clerk couldn't help but feel a sense of concern. However, unaware of the impending danger, he chose to dismiss his worries and continued his interaction with Elisha, paying little attention to the potential risks that lay ahead.. He approached the frozen Elisha and extended a helping hand. Without hesitation, Elisha accepted the offered assistance.

As their hands met, Elisha's eyes widened in horror as he noticed a tire hurtling through the sky, darting towards the unsuspecting clerk with alarming speed.

Elisha desperately seized the clerk's hands, attempting to shield him from the oncoming tire. Alas, lacking the necessary strength, his feeble grip betrayed him, weakened further by days of sleeplessness.

The clerk felt the boy's feeble grip but quickly extended his own hands to assist Elisha in standing up. With the clerk's support, Elisha managed to regain his feet. In a sudden burst of urgency, he cried out, "Duck now!" and swiftly placed his hands on the clerk's head, despite his own weakened state. Surprisingly, his determination prevailed, successfully achieving his goal.

However, it was too late for Elisha to evade the oncoming danger. The wheel's rim struck him forcefully on the forehead, causing him to collapse onto the ground and lose consciousness. The store clerk, bewildered by the boy's actions, watched in shock as the unfortunate incident unfolded.

"What in the physic is happening?" Shock washed over the clerk's face, clearly visible as he struggled to comprehend the inexplicable phenomenon unfolding before him.

---------------------------------------

Elisha's eyes fluttered weakly, burdened by the brilliant glare of the sun, making it a formidable task to fully open and embrace the luminous world around him. Eventually, he succeeded in parting his lids, revealing his surroundings as he lay on the roadside. The gaze of numerous onlookers fixated upon him, their gathering growing in size. Their astonishment was evident, struggling to comprehend why a boy would be found sleeping in such a place.

"Is he dead?"

"Doesn't he have a home?"

"An outcast."

The crowd's murmurs filled the air as they observed the pitiful state of the boy. Some expressed concern, while others displayed disgust at his appearance. Unbeknownst to Elisha, he remained oblivious to the whispers that surrounded him. As he surveyed his unfamiliar surroundings, a bewildered expression etched across his face, a profound sense of shock and confusion taking hold.

A thousand kilometers away, atop a towering 45-story building, an aged man stood, overlooking the view of the city. Sensing the abrupt disturbance in the fabric of timespace, his attention turned towards the boy, recognizing him as the catalyst behind this extraordinary phenomenon. With an intrigued expression adorning his face, the old man murmured to himself, "Hmmm, interesting."
