Chereads / My Dimensional Haven / Chapter 22 - B1 Ch22

Chapter 22 - B1 Ch22

"Boss?" Annette asked, seeing that he became a little upset.

"Never mind. What's going on outside?" His old boss highly valued Sergei's ability to get rid of unwanted thoughts and pull himself together.

"It's quiet for now, I already made a more or less safe route. But it will be impossible to get to their supplies."

"Yeah, I figured out that much. Tell me if there's any commotion. It's weird that no one found out that I'm gone yet."

"Ummm? Sir?" Regina walked to Sergei and spoke softly. She was hesitant to interrupt him as he was busy talking to somebody…

"What?" The man turned to look at the pretty young woman standing in front of him. She was really beautiful despite all the grime and bruises - at least 8 out of 10. Plus modesty and a cute look on her face gave her a special charm.

"Everyone agreed to your conditions." Regina tried not to look him in the eyes. She became a little wary of men after the apocalypse, just like many other girls. Despite her being sure that the man in front of her was one of the few who was worthy of trust, a female's subconscious is not a very logical thing.

"Already?" Sergei asked shifting his gaze from Regina towards the crowd of ladies nearby.

"Yes… Only an inevitable death awaits us here, you, on the other hand, are offering us a new life…" The girl replied lowering her head.

"Alright. Tell them to come here."

"Yes!"

The girls gathered before Sergei and he started teleporting them into haven one after another, they were scared at first but quickly got used to it. Though he had to return a few of them back to persuade the others, so they could tell them that it was safe and there were no psychopaths or hordes of zombies there, like some of the worrywarts already started imagining. Nothing was easy when it came to women…

***

*sigh* "I'm tired…" Sergei stretched his body and sighed. His fatigue was more mental than physical. He stood in the completely empty barracks - no humans, no furniture…

Sergei summoned a chocolate bar from the haven, quickly ate it and washed it down with cold spring water.

"It is no wonder they say that the chocolate is the staff of life." The man thought out loud, feeling much better. Although, obviously, no one says that. "Annette, report."

"It's quiet for now, but I'm starting to notice some weird movements and you better get out of there, Boss."

"Roger that, lead the way."

Sergei made his way through the camp under Annette's guidance, constantly hiding and waiting until there was a possibility to slip through. But the closer he was to the border of the camp the more patrols and guards appeared on his way.

"Boss, get back, they sounded the alarm."

"They are fast… Roger." The man looked around and returned to haven.

***

"Where is he?! Where's Lisa?! Where's everyone?!" The "gorilla" roared, the very same one who was the commander of the camp. She entered the room where they kept their prisoner but didn't find anyone. The "gorilla" turned red from anger, her veins swelled like snakes under her skin and started pulsating. It looked terrible. All those present knew - one wrong move and they were done for!

"Commander, there's blood!" One of the women who was accompanying the commander, found traces of blood. Sergei, of course, tried to remove all traces but wasn't thorough enough… He missed a few drops and the woman turned out to be very observant!

"Maybe it's his blood." The "gorilla" snorted.

"No, commander - there's a little piece of flesh in the blood, it looks like a brain." The woman replied and licked the blood. She concentrated on the sensation, rolled the piece of flesh in her mouth, then opened her eyes and confirmed her theory. "Yes, it is a brain."

"Aaargh!!! Raise the alarm, our "guest" escaped!" The "gorilla" roared so loudly that the alarm was sounded even without the command… The half of the camp heard her…

The camp was abuzz, the searches and litigations were underway and soon was discovered the disappearance of more than three hundred people!

***

"So, you are telling me, that three hundred and twenty nine people just up and vanished?" The "gorilla"-commander was sitting in a huge massage chair in her office. Only massage helped her remain calm and also saved dozens of lives… A huge woman stood in front of her, her face pale from fear.

"Y-y-e-s, commander… they could not have… es-s-scaped from the camp." The woman stuttered and shook from fear, doing her best not to look in her commander's angry, red eyes.

"Yeah? Where did the security go that was guarding those bitches, then?" The commander asked after calming down a bit.

"I-I-I… don't know…"

"In other words, our dear "guest" escaped, killed the guards and sneaked out three hundred good for nothing, pretty chicks right from under your nose? And he also managed to hide the corpses of the guards that he killed while he was at it?"

"N-n-no, commander, they couldn't have, we have g-g-good security…" The huge but deathly pale woman answered while shaking uncontrollably.

"Enough. Carla, you are the head of security now. Interrogate this bitch and put her in prison. Adele, take the girls and do a full search, they couldn't have gotten far!"

"Yes, Commander!" Two women replied in unison. One of them then quickly left the office, while the other, along with some guards, led the ex-head of security away.

"Bastard!!!" The gorilla who's been trying to control her anger the whole time suddenly went berserk and punched the wall, making a huge hole in it in the form of her fist…

***

"What the hell am I supposed to do with all of you?" Sergei sat on a chair and observed three hundred girls with gloomy eyes. The rescued were gathered in the center of the camp where they were being fed and provided with medical assistance. A lot of them had bruises, cuts and many other injuries, some suffered from diarrhea.

"Boss, you are a very nice person." Annette, who was sitting with her back to him, giggled. She had been closely following the situation in the feminists' camp so she couldn't take her eyes off the monitor.

"Don't rub it in, I'm not nice. Better tell me what to do with all these women? I need men!"

"Men? Boss likes men?!" As luck would have it, Anne, who was walking by, heard only a piece of his phrase and just jumped to conclusions.

"Guys, you won't believe what I'm about to tell you!!!" Anne tried to rush to her friends to share this sensational news with them, but by Sergei's will, appeared right in front of him and received a smack upside her head. At it turned out, it was the most effective way to calm her down - which was proved by Orianne.

Sergei recently learned that he could move people around the haven. He tried not to do it without a good reason though - who knows what they were doing at the moment? They could be pooping…

"Aw, that hurt! Why, Boss???" Anne asked, almost at the verge of tears and rubbed the top of her aching head.

"I'm not gay, you idiot. I was saying that the camp needed men to fight with zombies and other enemies!" "Not gay" replied with annoyance.

"A-a-a, that's what it was!"

"That's it, get out of here, you're giving me a headache."

Sergei took advantage of his alone time and reflected on what had happened and concluded that he could use some new working hands. Now he had enough people to process wheat and he could even increase the number of fields… tenfold…

"Now… How am I supposed to house them? Two-room houses cost 400 coins, there are three hundred of newcomers, if not more… It's one hundred and fifty houses minimum… and it's sixty fucking thousand coins in money! I only have forty six thousand. You all were asking me why I needed that much money? This is why!"

While the man was distressed by the exorbitant spending, the camp started celebrating. Alice and the girls decided to give the new girls the warmest welcome. The canned food and alcohol disappeared with terrifying speed but Sergei wasn't aware of it yet…

***

"Over, over… can everyone hear me? Excellent." Sergei found a microphone and speakers in the warehouse. There were more that three hundred people before him and he didn't want to shout - that's why he decided to use a microphone.

"You should've been given the basic information by now. If you weren't, just ask Alice. Consider her my right hand woman. So! This place is created by my skill, it exists outside space and will remain untouched even if our planet explodes to hell. Well, that is considering that I'm still alive…"

"I need survivor's coins to provide you with housing. In order to get them, you need to work in the fields, growing food that I will sell. So if you want yourself a house, then work, if you want a warm bathroom - work, if you want to eat delicious food - work. Today all of you should rest because tomorrow I'm going to buy new fields and enlarge the territory of the haven, so get your strength back."

"And one more thing. Regina will be responsible for all the newcomers, every time any of you screws up - she'll get punished. Orianne will be responsible for all the work in the fields. You'll manage, right?"

"Of course, Boss! I will not let you down!" Exclaimed the tall, golden-haired beauty.

Orianne became even more beautiful in last few days: food, air and water in the haven had a positive influence on health and appearance. Her long braided golden hair was almost reaching her butt. Her figure became more fit because of all the hard work, she was, of course, a full-figured woman, but her beauty only benefited from it. Big D cup breasts (which also became more fit), round buttocks, a well pronounced line of waist… But with all that she looked like a true noble - the way she maintained her posture and behaved in public, all that was pointing to the fact that Orianne was at least a princess. However, she was also very friendly, had an angelic smile and was the most hard working among all of the residents.

"Good, because I'm giving you an authority to move crops into the cellar and back and an access to all of the tools in the warehouse."

"Thank you, Boss!"

"Alright then. Everyone eat and rest! We got a hard day's work ahead of us tomorrow. The brothers, Gai and Gautier, will hand you tents and sleeping accessories. And one more thing, if you have any useful skills - inform Alice. If you can't or won't work in the field, talk to Alice, she will assign you another job. If there aren't any, you'll have to do whatever Alice tells you to do, even if you don't like it. That's all! Everyone eat and rest!"

***

After eating and relaxing a little Sergei came to Annette - she decided to eat behind her desk so not to miss anything interesting.

"What's the situation?"

"It's chaos! A big group left the camp's territory, they are searching for you and the girls that escaped with you. Inside the camp there's an investigation taking place, six people were already sentenced to the zombie pit! But without the person with a skill-blocking ability it didn't go without casualties."

"Sounds like an excellent time for escape!"

"Yes, Boss, but I think you should wait twenty minutes or so, that's when the real fun is about to begin." The girl gave him a sly smirk.

"Mm?"

"People decided to organize a rebellion…"

"Ha, funny. Show me!"

In the building on the edge of the camp, a group of forty women were discussing the plan of action.

(fr) "I've already made arrangements - those who are undecided with which side they are on, will avoid the battle, our job is to make it quick. There are more of them and they're stronger, but we have truth and determination on our side!"

(fr) "Yes! Joanne is a tyrant and she needs to be destroyed!"

(fr) "Destroyed! Destroyed!" The women shouted.

"Damn, women and rebellions are incompatible things!" Sergei commented, looking at the monitor. "It's bad enough that there are only few of them, but they also conducted a survey! A fucking survey! I'm sure the commander is waiting for them with blazing guns…"

Just as he predicted, the rebels were captured in an ambush and the fierce battle began, but as it turned out, the rebels weren't your average brawlers. Six of them ended up being high level system users and gave their opponents a decent battle. But the moment Joanne the Commander made an appearance, all six powerful system users died a very painful death.

Joanne could turn into a stone man, or rather a stone woman, her strikes could easily smash blades, walls and even vehicles. But Sergei didn't witness that - he escaped the camp on the sly and was rapidly speeding away as far as possible…

***

"It's… been a long… time… since I ran like… this…" Sergei stopped to catch his breath. "Annette… report…"

"All clear, there are almost no zombies in the area, no search parties either."

"Roger… I'll keep running…"

After quarter of an hour of running, the man almost fell from fatigue, so he decided to return to his haven. He's ran a good distance away from the feminists' camp, so the road ahead shouldn't cause any problems.

After taking a shower and grabbing a quick bite, Sergei went to sleep. But sleep did not come - the viagra was still affecting him…

Knock-knock-knock, someone suddenly knocked on the door.

"Who's there?"

"It's me, Boss." He heard Alice's shy voice.

"…Come in."

"Yes…" When Alice entered the house she was bright red from embarrassment. She had her back turned to him and as she was locking the door - her robe slipped off. "I thought that maybe you couldn't fall asleep because of viagra… So…"

The girl didn't finish as Sergei turned her around and kissed her passionately, before pushing her towards the bed.

Only those who lived a good distance away from Sergei's house were able to get some sleep that night. Usually Alice was more reserved, but under Sergei's raging force caused by a good dose of high quality viagra, the girl loosened up and half of the population heard her moans of passion, which were amplified by almost an absolute silence of the haven. Alice was able to get back to her own house only by midnight - she couldn't leave her son to sleep alone.

In the morning, everyone gathered in the center of the camp as per usual. The newcomers gathered together a little distance away though, because it wasn't possible for all of them to fit on the meadow.

"Why are you all so gloomy?" Sergei was practically beaming, he was happy and well rested.

"Boss! I demand the noise isolation!" Anne shouted and the rest of the girls instantly nodded in agreement - namely the majority of them. Reine sat there looking as red as a tomato, with her gaze fixed solely on the ground; Martha didn't give a shit - such sounds in the night were a normal thing to her.

"Huh?" Sergei was confused.

"You've been having fun with Alice for the better part of the night! And I… we heard all of it! It was as if we all were standing right beside you!"

"Oh god…" Alice covered her red face from embarrassment.

"That's right, and "oh god!" and "oh yes yes yes!" Ouch! That hurt!" Anne got smacked upside her head once again, and the smack was a powerful one at that - the sound of it could be clearly heard on the other end of the table.

"That's inappropriate, Anne! Look at poor Alice!" Orianne exclaimed.

"I agree with Anne, Boss. I had nightmares all night and I wasn't the only one." Petite Natasha remarked that most of the girls had a sleepless night - the dark circles under their eyes were proof of that. "We all had to relive everything that we've been through, you know, whether we wished it or not."

"I understand, I didn't think of that yesterday…"

"Well of course, after such a dose of viagra - I'd be jumping on everything that moves in just a minute, while boss lasted until night!" Old Louis laughed.

"But apparently it was worth it!" He then added and laughed even louder. Which made Alice want to crawl under a rock.

"Let's eat already, today is going to be a tough day. We need to decide how we're gonna house the newcomers and enlarge the haven, it's too crowded. We now will be consuming 400-500 kilos of food a day - so we need new fields. We also need to discuss how and where to house the new girls, what houses are we gonna build, how many, etc." Sergei said all this then smiled broadly and looked at all his people. "There's a lot of work and you are all going to help me with it!"

"Of course, we will!" Anne butted in again.

"Well… a fat lot of good you are!" The man replied and gave her a serious look.

"But Boss! You are so mean!"

After a good laugh everyone had their breakfast and coffee, then Sergei assigned them different tasks and headed to his laptop.

"Subject: Report of Receipt.

You brought 329 survivors into the haven and they agreed to your terms. Your haven received 3 290 experience points."

"Subject: Level Up.

Congratulations! Your haven reached level 8. As a reward you receive a bag of seeds "Special Apple Tree" (the big package). The store assortment of seeds and other items has been updated."

"Subject: Level Up.

Congratulations! Your haven reached level 9. The store assortment has been updated."

"Subject: Increase Of Dimensional Detection.

The population of your haven surpassed 100 people. The level of dimensional detection increased from 0.1 to 0.5."

"Subject: Increase Of Dimensional Detection.

The population of your haven surpassed 300 people. The level of dimensional detection increased from 0.5 to 1.

Warning! There's a chance of lost souls invading the haven. We recommend you to set up a proper security of the perimeter."

(rus) "Pizdets…" The man spent ten minutes just thinking and staring at the monitor. Thinking and staring, staring and thinking.

"System, what the hell is dimensional detection?"

IT IS A QUANTITY THAT DETERMINES THE VISIBILITY OF THE HAVEN IN THE DIMENSIONAL OCEAN.

"…Okay, what is the dimensional ocean?"

IT IS A PLACE WHERE THE HAVEN IS LOCATED.

"Such a useful piece of information. Thank you."

YOU'RE WELCOME.

"It was sarcasm! And I know that you're aware of that!" Sergei took a deep breath and continued. "Okay… Who or what can detect us?"

BEINGS THAT INHABIT THE DIMENSIONAL OCEAN. THE OCEAN IS FILLED WITH THE FRAGMENTS OF WORLDS. THE BEINGS THAT RESIDE ON THOSE FRAGMENTS CAN SENSE THE HAVEN AND SAIL TO IT OR THEY CAN BRING THEIR OWN FRAGMENT AND ABSORB THE HAVEN.

"Fuck! Even this place is not safe! What do I do if the enemies come barging in?"

DEFEND YOURSELF.

"How, dammit? There are three hundred chicks, a few old people and youngsters and only two men who can fight! And I am one of those men!"

YOU SHOULD'VE TAKEN THE RECRUITING OF SURVIVORS MORE SERIOUSLY.

"Can't argue with that. You're a fool, Sergei, a real fool, a kind one yes, but that doesn't change the fact that you're still a fool…"
