This is really becoming more of a romance-fantasy than an action-fantasy one.
Still it isn't bad. I could tell if other people favor me or does it only work with them?
I'll check it out later. Also, why is Amelia's affection meter for me over maximum capacity?
I returned the mask on my face and Amelia looked down disappointedly.
This new feature could help me a lot to know if someone has good or bad intentions towards me.
Though, this feature seems like something an author of a novel just thought up and added.
Well, it doesn't matter as long as it helps me.
Let's test it out on Mai first. However, contrary to my expectations, Mai's wasn't called affection meter.
It was favorability meter and it's almost halfway full.
So there's a difference between affection and favorability.
And as if to interrupt my thoughts, Anaia spoke up removing her mask as it revealed a serious expression of a beauty almost no one can compare.
"I guess it's about time, I tell you about myself, Aither and you too Anaia. Since we're on this together, it's right that I should tell you why I came here."
She had a stern look on her face as she said that while staring intently towards us.
Is this going to be a past reveal? The part of a story where the heroine reveals her back story?
And I was right, as the next thing that came out from her mouth made me sure of it.
"Let me tell you guys a story of a princess that was exiled from a faraway kingdom."
Amelia and I turned serious and listened carefully. This will be the part of the plot signifying that Anaia trust us enough to tell us about her secret.
It is only right to listen carefully and with this I'll know more about her and how she got here.
"There was once a princess in a faraway kingdom called Cyprian. She was elegant, talented, but most of all beautiful.
That's what all the people in her kingdom thought of her to be. They knew that with her around the future of their kingdom will also flourish.
However, too much talent and attention can also cause hatred, jealousy, or envy.
Because of her gaining all the favor in the kingdom, the crowned prince was left out. He was also strong and had the presence of a king.
But compared to his sister, he paled in comparison. As such, as their father the king went out, he thought of a scheme.
A scheme to get rid of her sister. Though if he wanted to, he could get rid of her with his strength alone.
But he did not, as the people will know he was the culprit. They knew of his envy and jealousy for his sister.
One day, he challenged his sister, "the first one to break this crystal will be the winner." Or so he said.
It was clearly a trap but his sister was naive and the princess trusted her brother.
He was loving and caring for her since she was a child. How could she ever think that it was a part of his plan.
She only thought it was but a friendly duel to see who wins.
The crystal was hard. Hard enough that if other people except the prince were to try and break it they would fail to do so.
However, the princess was strong just like her brother and she managed to break it in a few minutes.
She ran out of breath as she almost use all of her energy. And as she was about to smile and announced her victory....
She saw her brother's wicked smile.
"——?!"
It was the first time she saw her brother smile like that and it made her startled.
As she finished calming her breath, two people arrived at the scene.
It was the king and queen of this kingdom, their very own parents.
As they arrived, their expressions turned grim. And the mother hurried to hug her child. She was crying.
And the father stood still on the spot and looked at them with a defeated expression. Sadness was clearly written on his face.
He looked at his son and said.
"Follow me, Nier, you will explain everything that happened here to the last detail."
Nier nodded his head and they both left the scene, leaving behind the mother and daughter pair.
One was crying in pain and the other, confused, not knowing why her mother was crying for her.

"What you said is logical and I'll believe you. Guard! Announced this to everyone, the princess Anaia of Cyprian has broken the 'heart' of the Kingdom and is to be exiled by tomorrow.
Starting that day, she will no longer call herself as a member of the Cyprian Royal Family.
And she will only call herself by her given name."
The king ordered with all his might seemingly no hesitation but the expression he showed on his face says otherwise.
And just like that, the following day the princess, I, was exiled along with Mai.
We were both sent off to this continent and has been living here for the past few months.
And as for why we're heading to the city. It's because something I need is there, something that might just be able to replace the so called 'heart' of the Kingdom."
The story ended just like a massive info dump made by an author and I, all the while, just nodded in understanding.
So her goal was to replace the 'heart' that she broke and return to her kingdom. If that is so, then I will naturally do my best to help her.
"You're trying to get something that can replace that thing so you can return to your kingdom, right?"
I asked and she nodded as an answer.
"Then, naturally we will help you to the best of our abilities but since someone as strong as you says it dangerous.... How dangerous exactly?"
"It's..... It's dangerous that I might not even know if I'll come out alive."
She said and I was began thinking hearing her words.
If she says that even she might not come out alive, then the possibility of me surviving is close to none. No, it might even be impossible to get out alive.
But still, even if that happens, the very chance that I die....
I could just rewind time.
Plus, since a quest has already arrived, finishing it should probably moved the plot into the next arc.
Also, since it's dangerous, shouldn't this be the time where the protagonist power up?

Oh, come on! Although, I'll accept this anyway, but is all the quest not refusable?!
