"Just let me go," Elena repeated, her tone noticeably softer than before, her head slightly bowed. Her icy demeanor had thawed considerably.
She realized she shouldn't be feeling this way. After all, it was her decision to storm out of dinner upon hearing Yuchen's parents' comments. But now, Elena was grappling with a deep sense of disappointment. She had expected more from Yuchen, or at least, a better understanding of her feelings.
Should he really ask her where she's going?
"Where are you planning to go?" Yuchen asked again, his expression tinged with confusion.
"Have you forgotten that your car keys are with me?" he continued, baffled by Elena's abrupt exit. He could tell she was upset, but what she seemed to have overlooked was that her car keys were still in his trouser pocket.
Elena, having raised her head, was about to voice her exasperation with Yuchen's persistence when his words hit her.
