Liona went to bed last night in a good mood. She had gotten a few of her worries off her chest and when she went to sleep, she was feeling lighter than she had in a few weeks as her finals had loomed over her. Although that wasn't the only thing that had happened as she went to sleep. Besides feeling lighter, her dreams were weirdly vague and somehow titillating. She had no idea what she dreamed about, but when she woke, she was feeling a little out of sorts. She couldn't pinpoint just what her dream was about, but it left her with vague feelings of being pent up like her heats left her. Except she wasn't in heat and wasn't due for her heat until next month at the earliest. She was always regular with both her heat and her period so she had no doubt that it would continue to be on time when it came time for her next one.
As she rose for the day, she pushed the feeling to the back of her mind while she surfed her huge closet for something she wanted to wear. Since it was spring break and there was no need for that accursed uniform she hated so much. She made a mental note to talk to her Grandpa Lionel about changing the uniform to be more modern and follow trends she's studied closely. She sighed as she dug out multiple outfits and not finding a single suitable one, she tossed them all on her bed before she opened up the wardrobe that held more of her clothes that her closet couldn't fit.
After finally finding something cute to wear, Liona sighed at the massive pile of clothes she had. Over half she didn't wear, or hasn't worn but once, and her spring wardrobe was so out of date, that she didn't want to wear what she currently had since it was last season's fashion. "Maybe Erik's little sister would like some cute clothes? Some of these might fit her since I've grown a lot since last year…" She spoke out loud as she glanced at her bed while she got dressed.
"Yeah, that's what I'll do. I'll give Erik's sister, pick of what I don't want anymore, and I'll go shopping for new clothes with Alli and Chloe. Besides, I need a cute birthday outfit, stat!" She giggled to herself as she went over to her vanity and sat down to apply her makeup.
Formulating a plan for the day, Liona soon forgot about her dream last night and the feelings that it had evoked and went down for breakfast. Her brothers were already awake and at the table, but it seemed her sisters were still asleep since she didn't see them. Since she planned on seeing Erik this morning to talk to him about his sister picking out clothes, she didn't make a pit stop for coffee in the kitchen and just sat at the table to wait for their dad to serve breakfast.
"Morning Monsters!" She greeted her brothers.
"Good Morning sis!" Noah and Nolan greeted her.
"Hey, sis? Who was that guy you were hanging out with last night? I don't recognize him from our school. Is he your new boyfriend?" Noah asked cheekily.
"And what's it to you who I hang out with? Did he look like my boyfriend?" She teased Noah.
"Ha! As if! He's way too scrawny to be your type! But he was scarfing the food Auntie gave him last night like he hadn't eaten in days! Is he okay?" Nolan asked.
"He just had a bit of a rough day yesterday, so he hadn't eaten anything yesterday, so he was probably pretty hungry by the time Auntie got there to sort it all out. And no, he's not my boyfriend, he's just my friend. Speaking of, I was thinking of getting rid of some of my clothes and was planning on inviting his little sister over to look at them. Do you brats have any clothes you want to get rid of too? That way when I take the remnants to the donation center, I don't have to make another trip later."
"Nah, we don't hoard clothes like you do! Why do you have so many clothes and shoes anyway? You don't even wear half of them!" Nolan answered for himself and his brother.
"Because they are cute, and I look good in them? Why else would I buy clothes? I got to look my best after all!" She grinned.
"Liona, boys, breakfast!" Liona looked up, astonished, to see her mom coming in with a tray of food for the table.
"Mom! You're home!" Liona nearly squealed with happiness.
"Where else would I be?" Her mom smiled. Liona had missed that smile of her mom's. It always was so pretty and made her feel better.
"Well you practically live at the hospital lately, so I just expected you to be there instead of home." Liona pouted a bit.
"Well, I seem to recall an important event coming up, so I thought I would start lessening my workload in preparation for it. Or was I mistaken about the day I gave birth to my eldest daughter? Or should I just go back to the hospital and take on as many patients as I can just so that I can completely avoid my baby's 18th birthday?" Mom sounded sarcastic, which totally made her laugh.
"Noo! Don't go back to the hospital, Mama! I just thought it was nice to see you after so long! I'll hate you forever if you miss my birthday!" Liona pouted and crossed her arms.
She looked back up at her mom, to see her pretty smile and a soft laugh.
"Liona, no matter what, I wouldn't miss your birthday. Have I ever been too busy to celebrate it? Has your dad ever been too busy? Have we not both always made time for you and your siblings, no matter how busy we get with work?"
"No. You and Dad have always been there for our birthdays and important events in our lives. You never miss a single thing, even if it's as little as a school play or band and orchestra concert and or the boys' swim meets. You guys always make time for us." Liona said.
"Right. That's because we love you, and all of you are the most important people in our lives." Her mom said as she sat down to eat with them.
"If you're here, does that mean, Dad went to work early?" She asked.
"Yes, he has to deal with a particularly concerning uptick in crimes involving alpha and omega lately. There seems to be something bigger at play and your dad needs to put his full attention on this so that we can be assured of the safety of those with secondary genders."
"Then are you home all day, Mom? Or are you only home for a few hours to catch up on sleep?" Noah asked.
"Both. I am home all day to not only get a bit of decent sleep, but also, I've missed the faces of my darling children. So, after breakfast I'll be getting a few hours of sleep then you all get me for the rest of the day."
"Rora? Do you see what I see?" Liona turned her head and saw her sisters sleepily trudge into the dining room.
"I don't know, Ari, I think I'm still dreaming!" This made their mom laugh.
"Come here, babies. It's not a dream, I'm here in the flesh." Liona smiled as her sisters rushed into their mom's arms and gave her hugs. Even though they were already 14, they could still act like little kids and get away with it.
Liona finished her breakfast while she listened to her siblings' excited chatter about their plans for spring break, while their mom, while undoubtedly very tired, still sat listening to them regale her with everything. After a bit when it seemed her mom wasn't going to tell them to shut up, she did. "Rora, Ari, mom needs to get a bit of sleep now. She's not going anywhere today besides to bed. You can regale her with all your stories and plans after she gets a bit of sleep. In the meantime, finish your breakfast before it gets cold so I can wash the dishes."
In response to this, her sisters stuck their tongues out at her and gave her dirty looks. She sighed. Now they really were being childish.
"Aurora, Ariel, go on and finish your food. Your sister's right. I'll be home all day today. We can have a nice long chat after I get a decent nap. Besides, I have a project that only my talented little girls can help me with." Liona was curious what it was but held her questions about it as she gathered the breakfast dishes from the table. Since her mom cooked, it was only right that she did the dishes.
