The air crackled with chaotic energy as the Hydra thrashed about, its remaining two heads spewing fire in a desperate, uncoordinated dance. Scar and Selena seized this opportunity. With the beast's attacks predictable in their randomness, they moved with practiced efficiency, exploiting the momentary weaknesses in its defenses.
Scar landed a brutal blow, severing the second head with a mighty swing of his blade. The remaining head roared in fury, its fiery breath scorching the ground where Selena had just stood.
She had vanished like a wisp of smoke, reappearing moments later behind the beast.
"All-out attack!" Scar roared, his voice laced with the strain of battle. A powerful aura surged around him, amplifying his strength. Selena, ever the pragmatist, countered with a flurry of light attacks, not meant to deal heavy damage but to further weaken the Hydra's defenses.
Scar charged forward, a whirlwind of steel and determination. His final attack, fueled by his exhaustion and the desperate need to end the fight, connected squarely with the last remaining head. The Hydra shrieked, a sound that echoed through the desolate landscape, before collapsing, unable to move, but it was still breathing. That attack wasn't enough to kill it.
The hydra fell with a heavy thud, its ragged breaths a chilling reminder of its defiance. Scar, drained from the fight, leaned on his sword, gasping for air. "Selena, finish it," he rasped. No answer. "Sele-"
Scar suddenly felt a dark powerful mixed energy flowing out of the tower. and it was flowing in Selena's direction. Selena was standing in the center, closing her eyes as she was absorbing the energy at rapid pace.
Noises started echoing, as cracks began to take their way on the towers walls and structure. it was about to collapse.
After a while, she opened her eyes. "Haha, I knew it. I now feel much stronger." she muttered to herself, then turned to look at scar. A dark aura was surrounding her, giving chills to him.
"Selena, what's that?" Scar demanded.
"For all these many years we have been in the tower, i kept researching it, i wanted to know anything. Then when we got to the 86th floor, i realized that this tower is not stable, as if 2 opposite powers are in it. And now we are here, i can say for sure that some people forced the tower to appear on earth and used it as a gate due to it's weak link."
She then let out a stronger aura, pressuring everything surrounding her, even scar, he barely was able to lift his head. " Thanks to the instability, i was able to become much stronger too"
Cracks became faster, and the structure of the tower was collapsing. This was the end of it.
"Shit! the tower is about to collapse on our heads, how do we get out now?" Scar stood up, but was still leaning on his sword.
"This power can only take me out. About you.. I don't know." Selena turned cold. Her eyes were devoted of any emotion.
"Are you saying that you are leaving me behind?" Scar narrowed his eyes.
"I'm sorry my dear husband, but i can't do anything about it." Selena said this as she was preparing to teleport.
"bluh!" Scar spat. "You chose to leave me behind for that power, stop pretending. you knew this would happen if you take that power, and still chose to toss me aside. " He was so angry.
"Part of it," Selena giggled, a dark sound devoid of humor."Besides, i know you can find a way, you always did. I trust that too"
"You think i would fall for those words of yours? damn" Scar growled. "Disappear before I point this sword at you."
Selena chuckled, then a surge of energy engulfed her, amplifying her aura. "Hope you survive, husband"
The tower, it's walls, ground, ceiling, everything was collapsing.
"Hope I survive? better not, because if i do, your end is going to be on my hands! and don't you dare refer to me as husband!" Scar said angrily.
"I'll be waiting, h.u.s.b.a.n.d " she laughed, then vanished.
The tower rumbled, walls crumbling, ground shattering. Scar was falling, the tower collapsing around him. "Tsk, what a bad end" he muttered, closing his eyes as he plummeted into darkness.
