Chapter 7 - Time to Make Friendship with Demon Lords?

Three days ago, Demon Lord Gleen came and invited me to her party. She also wanted our food for this event. It was a good opportunity for us, so we accepted, but now we're short on ingredients.

"My lord, we're short on eggs," Eli said.

"We're also short on other ingredients. If we don't manage to get them quickly, we won't be able to make them in time," Sara added.

That's a problem. Even though I've learned many things, not everything can be made with magic.

"We seem to be in trouble. Is something wrong?" Lady Lily came into the kitchen and asked.

"Ah, welcome, Miss Lily. Yes, we're in trouble. We're out of ingredients. If we knew somewhere we could purchase them, it would be helpful," I explained.

"No need to add 'Miss,' and that's the main reason I'm here today. My lady expected something like this to happen. Since you're new here, you probably don't know about the demon merchants' market. It's a place where demons trade goods," Lily said while eyeing the cookies we made the other day. "What are those?" she asked.

"These are cookies. They're also a good snack to enjoy with tea. Please try one," I offered her a cookie.

"Um, they're so crunchy and tasty," she enjoyed it.

"Yes, I don't know much. It's like I have amnesia. I only recently remembered my name," I explained.

"I see. That's how it is. Okay, come with me. I'll introduce you to some merchants in Vendaline City," she offered. But she kept glancing at the cookies.

"That would be a big help. Thank you," I said, packing two packets of cookies and giving them to her. "Please share them with Lady Gleen. It's for her approval." She didn't hesitate to accept.

"Eli, would you like to come too?" I asked her.

"May I be allowed?" she asked me.

"Of course," I turned to Lady Lily. "It's not a problem, right?" I asked her. "No, it's fine," she replied. And then we teleported to Vendaline City.

It was a beautiful city with numerous shops. Wow, they even sell potions. Oh, no, that's a brothel. I glanced at Eli, and she looked angry. Finally, we arrived at the proper food market with so many things to choose from.

Lily asked someone to contact the owner, and an old demon arrived.

"Oh my, how wonderful! Demon Lord Lily is here. It's my utmost pleasure to serve you. How may I help?" the old man said. Demon Lord Lily? She was a demon lord?

"This man, Lord Diablo, is a very important person to Lady Gleen. He came here to buy some ingredients," Lily explained.

"Oh my, oh my! A special guest from the great Lady Gleen. I am Bruzz. My lord, how may I help you?" Mr. Bruzz asked.

"Thank you. Actually, I need some raw ingredients. Here's the list," I handed him the list.

"Ah, we have everything. Give me a moment to pack them for you," Mr. Bruzz said.

"Thank you."

"Well, while he prepares your items, why don't I give you a tour?" Lady Lily suggested.

"Thank you, we would be happy to." And so, we went sightseeing. "By the way," I started, "he addressed you as Demon Lord. Does that mean you're also a demon lord?"

"Yes, I am a Demon Lord too. This city used to be mine. Lady Gleen gave me her most precious place, which is why I named this town Vendaline. But you don't have to call me Demon Lord or anything like that. Just call me Lily. After all, you're stronger than me," Lady Lily explained.

"So I can call you by your name, even though you're a Demon Lord. It feels like we're friends," I suggested. And yes, I noticed that I was more powerful than her, which surprised me, considering she was a demon lord.

"Okay, let's be friends. Lady Gleen wants that too. But she wants your sweets on a daily basis through me. However, I want friends who are stronger than me. All my friends are only because of my title. They don't even call me Lily, always referring to me as Lady-sama or Lord-sama. You're the first one who didn't hesitate to talk to me, even with Lady Gleen," she said and laughed.

"Haha, thanks. Okay, let's be friends, Lily," I said with a big smile. She seemed a little embarrassed and turned around. I looked at Eli, and she pouted. Why?

So I made friends with a demon lord. After that, we paid for our goods and teleported back to our home. Lily also went back to Lady Gleen.

"What's wrong, Eli?" I asked her.

"It's good for you, my lord. You made friends," she replied, sounding mad.

"Sorry, Eli. But you can't just be my friend," I said to her.

She looked at me, about to cry. "I know, I'm not worthy enough, right?" she said and turned around.

"No, it's not that. You're beyond that. You're more than a friend. You're the one who saved me, remember?" I reassured her and patted her head.

"Really?" she said, looking happy.

Yes.

"Let's complete our task, and then we'll go to the market next time, just the two of us," I suggested.

"Okay," she smiled and agreed.
