Her eyes were swollen up because she's been crying since yesterday the news was announced on the TV and even the net.

"You put us into this mess Micheal, how do I face the people? My pride as a billionaire wife is gone, we are left with nothing Micheal." Catherina shouted daringly pushing her husband.
"I am glad they didn't take the house from us at least Dad, you can sell it for my birthday party coming up." Jenna said carelessly without thinking of where they would stay.
Mr. Micheal snorted giving her no reply as he walk away from them.
He has a lot on his plate, hearing them rant will only add to his headache.
His brain is too occupied to add anything else let alone about his spoilt brats of children.
"Where are you going to Micheal? You have to do something about this whole thing, I can't live as a pauper after leaving it so many years, you can't make me a laughing stock in this city Micheal, you need to fix this and it's now"
Catherina said dragging Mr. Micheal's shirt which angered him.
He has tolerated her excesses enough since yesterday. How dare she disrespect him this way?
"Get your hands off me Catherina." He said through gritted teeth. The anger in his eyes were visible but his stubborn wife wouldn't leave him.
"And if I don't? Will you..."A slap landed on Catherina's face before she could finish whatever she was about saying.
Shock smoked through her body as she held her cheeks falling on the ground.

Sintia gasped in surprise. That just happened didn't it? Her father slapped her mother.

Mr. Micheal straighten his shirt and was about leaving the sitting room when a knock came in.
They all glanced at each other before Sintia went for the door.
Five hefty men walked in.
Three were cops and two wore a similar uniforms, they should be colleagues in their work place.
"Good day Mr. Micheal, we are from National Bank." One of the men on suit introduced.
Mr. Micheal's heart flipped in fear. Why are they here? Are they here to...
"It's been two months after the date we have you to return the loan you collected from us and we haven't heard from you ever since."
"We got to know that the company you used as collateral has been brought down. I am sure you read the agreement papers Sir, since the collateral isn't available, you are hereby under arrest till your family is able to raise our 1.2million dollars and if they are not able to meet up with any given time they will receive then, you will be sentenced to life imprisonment with hard labour."
Mr. Micheal remained numb without saying anything. He knew this would be the repercussion of not being able to pay up his debt but he never knew it will come this soon.
He glanced at his wife and daughters who stared right back at him.
"You took a loan too Micheal? You didn't care to tell me about it." Catherina said glaring at her husband.
There is no where in the world she can get the money from.
It's too huge for her, she had given out her savings for Jenna's school fee because Mr. Micheal couldn't pay.
It will be a shame and disgrace to their names if their precious daughter is being sent out of school for non-payment of academic fees.

"I am sorry Catherina, I thought I will be able to pay it back. Please try as much as you can to take me out of the cell, I don't want to spend the rest of my life in jail please Catherina."
Mr. Micheal said pressing his knuckles with his eyes bringing out waters. Mr. Micheal cries so much lately and all this started after Nina left.

One of the cops said handcuffing Mr. Micheal before pushing him away.
"Please reach Rochas on the phone, he needs to come back home"
That was his last statement before they pushed him into the Van.
Rochas sat in his office replying to the mails of his boss. He needs to be done before twelve to meet up with the given time of his presentation.
