At half past nine in the evening, after telling Timothy and Tifanny their bedtime story via video call, Richelle Dunn turned to call her eldest son.
Timmy's face appeared promptly on the screen, as trendy as Timothy and Tifanny.
"Timmy, your brother and sister listened to a story about an alien invasion today. Do you want to listen to something else, or do you like this one?"
Richelle's bedtime stories were sometimes inspired by children's books, but others were completely improvised based on the children's interests and requests. Tonight's alien invasion story was one of the latter.
Like his younger siblings, Timmy had a curious and imaginative fascination with outer space and aliens. He blinked and replied in his sweet voice,
"I want to hear about the aliens…"
Seeing her eldest son showing his rare softer side, Richelle yearned to embrace and ruffle him. Her gaze softened even more.
