Renjiro wanted to scream in frustration, he wondered what was behind the thought process of the person who created the game.
''if I can not get there by walking, maybe there is a portal somewhere, like the one that transported me to the point of my mission'' he mused and looked at the time available to him, he saw that he had but a few minutes left to complete the mission and groaned, even if he managed to find a way to get to the temple, the only way he would be completing the mission was if there were no demo ns for him to battle with while stopping the resurrection but he knew that was a pipe dream.
He saw a large rune on the wall close to where he had slain the vanquished the dragon, he touched the runes, trying to activate it and failing each time. He walked away from the wall and opened the options menu trying to see if there was a way he could get to the temple when the sky darkened and it began raining blood, the blood sizzled upon coming with contact with anything.
He watched his health dwindle irrespective of how many health potions he took, he cursed his luck since xp was used to buy in game coins and health potions cost a considerable amount of coins, he managed to find shelter in what looked like an abandoned temple and his health stopped falling.
He saw that there was still about a minute for the second demon prince to be resurrected but with the situation of things he couldn't leave the protection of the temple without losing his life, the whole area suddenly turned red as the timer approached five seconds.
When the timer hit zero there was a pulse of energy from the temple that seemed unreachable burning everything in its path, when it got to him there was a blinding light and an electronic sound in his head.
He turned around and found himself in front of the council office again, he repeated the same actions he had carried out the previous time and went into the store to get a few more health potions since he it was difficult getting out of the first part of the mission without losing a bit of his life.
He walked towards the portal but before stepping through it he prepared his strongest spell and set himself ablaze, he emitted constant bursts of flames intent on keeping the demons away from him from the very start, knowing what to attack first he headed straight for the dragon and incinerated it in record time, while keeping the rest of the demons at bay.
He considered heading towards the temple again on foot but on a second though he decided against it considering it a waste of precious time, he ran towards the abandoned temple and searched through it hoping to find something but to no avail, all the doors in the temple led no where. He walked out of the temple dejectedly, thinking of leaving the game till the rest of his guild were available so they could go on guild missions together.
While he was contemplating his leg got stuck on a rope and as he tried pulling his leg away he tugged at the rope and heard a mechanical sound that sounded very much like the meshing of stone gears, he picked up the rope and tugged at it with all his might, not caring for the consequences since he was at the end of his ropes.
the rope drew taut and he stopped hearing the mechanical sound, and discovered that there was an opening that looked very much like a man hole, he let himself in and at first tried using his hands to navigate the area before cursing his foolishness and lighting up the place, he discovered that he was in a very large corridor which he couldn't see the end.
He started walking down the corridor, thankful for the fact that he hadn't encountered any enemies yet when something attacked him, he cursed himself over and over again for jinxing it. he had never seen something look that hideous not even the demons he met after he crossed the portal, the creature had the eyes of a man on the features of a fish and the comb of a cock, it had the upper body of a woman and the lower body of a crocodile and the creature was shirtless so for a while renjiro almost lost himself staring at her breasts.
He cursed his foolishness and perversion when she spat at him, he managed to dogde her spittle which left a large hole in the wall behind him and blasted her with flames, she began to shriek in pain and in a few seconds many other creatures that looked just like her flooded the corridor, one of them charged at him and punched him sending him flying a few meters back, making his heart pound. He wondered why the game was so realistic in moments like this he forgot that it was just a game and he almost died of hypertension.
He stood dusting himself and surrounded himself in a wall of fire, he knew that was their weakness and he was going to exploit it, he was grateful he had chosen a fire mage character. So far all the opponents he had come across were susceptible to fire, he halted his thoughts to avoid jinxing it.
From behind his wall of fire he began blasting the creatures with fire, their shrieks alerting other creatures like them and crowding the corridor, renjiro knew that no matter what he did there was no way he would be able to leave the area before the countdown elapsed. He reinforced the wall of fire around him and stopped to think of a way out of his predicament.
