Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 A plan to expose Myrtle

Mishka was happy that the training session was coming to an end. She couldn't wait until her lunch appointment, if only for a chance of a break away from the office.

She noticed that there were two people at the back of the classroom who were constantly looking at her with bright smiles as she presented her lesson.

"That's it for this week. We will discuss promotions again on Monday," she announced with a smile as she walked away from the board and to her desk.

She placed all her training material back into her briefcase and looked up so that she could leave and return to her office. She noticed two students walking towards her from the back of the classroom.

It was the same young man and lady who had been smiling so much throughout her lesson.

"Oh, I thought everyone had left. Is there something more that you need to know?" Mishka asked in a friendly tone of voice and a smile.

"Oh, we just wanted to mention that we saw you at Club Blue last night," the young man mentioned.

"Yes, we were glad to see that you were okay because we thought that you were not well yesterday," the young lady added with a smile.

"Oh, I wasn't okay in the morning, but as the day went on, I started to feel better," Mishka responded.

"Oh, we were there with some models so we learned some marketing tricks from them as well," the young man remarked with a broad smile. It was obvious to Mishka that the two young people wanted to impress her.

She was just about to excuse herself and leave, when their last statement stood out to her.

"You met with some models at the club?" she asked, looking at both of them individually.

"Yes, we were with some models who work for a famous designer," the young man replied.

"Oh, I think I met that designer briefly already," Mishka remarked with a smile without thinking twice.

"Oh, you did? We planned on going to his place on Saturday for some socializing with the models after their ramp performance," The young lady mentioned with a smile. "Then we will meet him as well, no doubt," she continued with a smug smile on her face.

"It would be nice to visit his place as well. Maybe I can go there with you guys. He already invited me. So, then I don't have to go there on my own for the first time," Mishka suggested with a smile.

"What are your names, by the way?" she asked.

"Josh and Gretchen," they answered almost at the same time.

"Great! Now I know your names. So, what do you think?" Mishka asked with a bright look in her eyes.

"It's a wonderful idea," Josh responded. "Don't you think so, Gretchen?" he asked his friend.

"Yes, it's a great idea," Gretchen agreed.

"Great, then where do we meet on Saturday?" Mishka asked. "I already know where the designer lives, so, can we meet outside the gates?" she asked.

"Definitely! We will just tell you the exact time," Gretchen replied with an excited glint in her green eyes.

"So, you want us to install a camera in the nursery?" Mishka asked Gillian with a her eyes stretched wide in alarm. They were having lunch in the small, intimate restaurant just slightly opposite her office building.

"It won't help to be suspicious and expect her to tell us the truth. We have to find out for ourselves," Gillian responded.

"But imagine if something went wrong and my Dad found out about it? He would say that I should have confided in him," Mishka remarked. "He would be appalled that I was investigating his mother," she added in a low tone of voice.

Mishka was not at ease about actively spying on her grandmother even if there was a good reason for that. Myrtle's safety could also be stated as a reason for being spied on but still, Mishka felt uneasy.

"I'm already going to see Bruce behind Gillian's back to find out how he operates as a werewolf designer. Now I have to do something secret behind my grandmother's back? Talking about her is different from actually spying on her," Mishka told herself.

"Yesterday I was just going for a walk in the woods to clear my mind and to practice singing, but ever since then, everything seems to be changing so rapidly," she told herself inwardly as she looked at Gillian who seemed totally calm and collected.

"She perhaps won't tell me outright if she's busy with something like witchery or eastern mysticism, but I think I should at least just ask her what she's doing there at night when she's not arranging flowers or preparing herbal medicine," Mishka suggested.

"That would definitely sound off warning bells and let her put her guard up if she's busy with casting spells," Gillian responded.

"You say that it really sounded scary?" Mishka asked looking at Gillian in concern. "You've never seen her like that before?" she continued.

"Well, the atmosphere was really strange and eerie, even thinking about it now.

Besides, if we have something on your Grandma and she knows about it, we can get her to leave your mansion and go back to her own place quickly," Gillian remarked.

"It sounds like blackmail and bullying," Mishka responded as she stared at her piece of pie in front of her.

"I think that this could be the break that you were looking for though. She would never return here if she knew that you were onto her," Gillian responded.

"It always takes guts to do the thing that's going to bring you a break from your troubles.

Anyway, she's bullying you right now, isn't she? Isn't she running the house after you've already turned twenty-one and should be doing it yourself under your Dad's guidance?" Gillian asked with a serious look into Mishka's eyes.

"It's just very difficult to imagine, that's what. I've never spied on anyone. What if I get caught?" Mishka asked with a serious look of doubt on her face.

"Then you can just say that you did it on my advice because I was sure that your Grandma was doing something spiritual there which was foreign to me. Something frightening," Gillian replied.

"Your Dad will understand if you explain that we were scared," she added.

Mishka hoped that nobody from the office was there who could hear them. That would cause just as much trouble.

"Well, according to Milla, my grandmother doesn't do this very often, so I can wait a little and just observe her a little bit before I put a camera in the nursery," she remarked.

"Okay, but I'm telling you, it was an uncanny feeling hearing her chant and then seeing her like that," Gillian remarked.

"Maybe it was the atmosphere down there which made it sound actually scary," Mishka responded.

"It could be, but I was very unnerved and that doesn't just happen to me," Gillian responded.

"Listen, what if it's even worse when we look at the recording on the camera?" Mishka asked with a concerned frown on her brow.

"How do mean?" Gillian asked, looking confused.

"What if we see stuff that we're not ready to see?" Mishka asked. "What if what you saw was not everything? What if something really hectic happened even before you arrived at the nursery?" she continued with her eyes large in sudden alarm.
