Sky's Point of View
I couldn't believe that I kissed Luna again. This time, I asked her, and she didn't resist.
I decided to leave the classroom once all the students had left to avoid running into Ms. Alonzo. I didn't want any more orders. I just wanted to sleep.
As I stepped out of the campus, I opened my umbrella due to the heavy rain. I noticed a girl standing by the garden, getting soaked in the rain.
Why the heck?
I ran towards the girl when I realized it was Luna standing there. Why was she standing in the rain and seeming lost? Did she want to get sick?
"Luna, why?" I sheltered her under my umbrella.
I looked at her attire. Her undergarments were clearly visible since she wasn't wearing a vest anymore.
Fuck. Get a hold of yourself, Sky!
"Luna, it's cold. Go home." I tapped her on the shoulder, but she didn't respond.
I took off my vest and placed it on her shoulder. I supported her as we walked out of the campus. It seemed like no one was there to pick her up since no car came to meet her. We left the campus, but Luna remained silent. Her mouth and hands stayed closed. I hailed a tricycle to give her a ride home.
"I don't want to go home," I heard her say.
"Why?"
"I don't want to go home," she replied in a trembling voice.
I couldn't bring her to my house because my brother had the key. He had already told me to stay at my cousin Kyle's place temporarily.
"We have nowhere to go." I looked at her. She just stared straight ahead. I couldn't tell if she was crying or not because of the rain.
"Fine. I'll take you with me." I hailed a tricycle to leave Gil Puyat Street.
I took her to a motel so she could stay there for the night if she didn't want to go home. I rented only one room for her.
"Are you leaving me?" she suddenly asked while we were at the counter waiting for the room key.
I'm so screwed.
"No. I'll just rent another room for myself." I asked the cashier if there were any available rooms.
"There are no more rooms. That's the last one." It seemed like I had no choice. I would have to stay in the same room as Luna.
As we entered the motel, I immediately turned on the heater because I could see how cold she was. She sat on the floor and just looked at the wall.
"What's going through your mind that makes you not want to go home?" I asked irritably. I still had a lot to do at my cousin's house. Kyle might look for me and find out that I'm not there.
"It's Bryan..." she weakly replied.
She looked at me. "He's leaving for Japan. He's leaving, and we're not okay."
Huh?
I sat beside her. I could feel her body shivering. Even I was shivering from being soaked in the rain.
"Take off your clothes for now. I'll step out." I was about to stand up when she suddenly pulled me down to sit beside her.
"Just stay here, please," she whispered.
How is this girl so comfortable with me? I'm a guy. We're in the same room. Just the two of us, no one else. There's a bed...and...
Sky! Stop it.
I took off my polo shirt. I had an undershirt on, so it was fine. I also took off my wet slacks, as they were making me even colder.
I looked at Luna, who was trembling from the cold. She must have been soaked in the rain for a long time.
"Luna," I called her and pulled her to sit in front of me.
I grabbed the blanket and covered us both.
"Take off your clothes. You might get sick."
She turned to look at me and shook her head.
"I won't do anything, don't worry." I smiled.
She nodded and turned away from me. I closed my eyes so I wouldn't see what she was doing. It was okay for me to see a girl in her undergarments since it's common at the beach or resorts.
I felt her sit between my legs. She held onto both of my arms, and suddenly, she hugged herself against me.
"L-Luna, don't." I said uncomfortably.
"It's cold. Hold me."
As she said that, I hesitated for a moment and then pressed my chest against her. I could feel her intense shivering. I wrapped the blanket around both of us to provide more warmth.
"Are you courting me?" she suddenly asked in the midst of silence.
"Hm."
"Are you willing to wait?"
"Yes." I replied. I could smell her hair. Luna had a unique scent, like a mixture of roses and sampaguita flowers.
"I like you, Luna," I whispered.
I waited for her to respond, but I didn't hear her voice after I said that. I looked at her and saw that she was fast asleep. I lifted her onto the bed so she could sleep more comfortably.
I covered her. I couldn't help but stare at her skin.
A girl and a guy in a room. There's a bed. I don't have a shirt or slacks...
And Luna...
Without a shirt...
Next to me.
All defenseless.
I shook my head at my thoughts. I lay down and turned away from her. I would leave here early tomorrow. My brother would be furious.
I glanced at my phone when it lit up and vibrated. I received a message from Bryan.
"Take care of her. You're the one who should handle her stress for now. See yah!"
Stress? Why? What's going on with you? Your best friend of nine years left you, and here you are now—defenseless and beside me.
I looked at Luna again. Her eyes widened as she suddenly woke up.
"Do whatever you want to do to me, Sky."
What the fuck? Are you that naive?
"Okay. Goodnight," I said and turned away. I wanted to sleep. All I felt was exhaustion and anxiety because I hadn't slept for several nights. I didn't want Ms. Alonzo to notice me. I had been doing nothing but paperwork.
I kept my eyes open throughout the night. There were times I glanced at my phone to induce sleep, but I couldn't fall asleep even a bit.
I shifted my position to face Luna. She was sound asleep. From this angle, I could see the details of her face. She had smooth skin, long eyelashes, and rosy lips. I couldn't help but smile when I saw her wake up due to my hand gently caressing her hair.
"Why?" she asked, rubbing her sleepy eyes.
"You're beautiful." I smiled.
She simply smiled back and closed her eyes again.
I closed my eyes as well and turned to the other side. This time, I felt sleep approaching.
