Limping out of the cave with Lily's help, they began to move slowly toward the distant sounds, following the shoreline cliff and using the cover provided by the forest.
"Talon, go check it out; see if it's the goblins," Lucius whispered to him, unsure if any other enemies lurked nearby. Leaning on a tree, he signaled for the rest to halt.
Seeing Talon nod in acknowledgment, Lucius added, "Take your time and don't engage anyone. Come back and report the numbers."
Lucius wiped the sweat from his forehead with a cloth, his breathing ragged and each step causing him to groan.
He had reached this place with some effort needed; though his wound was closed, the pain persisted, feeling like needles pricking him with small movements.
"Are you okay?" Lily asked with concern as she stood beside him, making him fall silent.
