Four weeks had passed since the system's sudden appearance, and a sense of calm had settled over their lives, with things seemingly returning to normal.
However, within this tranquillity, Milena's physical state began to betray her. Feeling unwell, she hurried to the toilet, her body shaking as she vomited.
"What did I catch, the flu?" Milena wondered aloud, her voice tinged with concern, as she recounted her symptoms to Austin.
He looked at her, his expression a mixture of attentiveness and worry.
"You think you might be pregnant?" Austin's question carried a glimmer of hope, and Milena's eyes widened in surprise. The possibility hadn't crossed her mind.
"I...don't think so?" She responded uncertainly, her voice wavering.
"We can check," Austin declared, hope in his voice. He swiftly got to his feet and dashed to the nearest pharmacy, intent on purchasing a pregnancy test to settle the uncertainty that hung in the air.
