I opened the door quickly and let Dennis in. "You gave us quite a scare, Sir Hero." "Are you okay?" "I think so; what happened?" "You collapsed after the ritual; we still don't know what caused it, but the important thing is that you're safe." "Human, why don't you use that skill of yours?" No, I shouldn't; I haven't figured out what it does or, more specifically, how to use it. So I believe it is safer for me to just go along with this hero thing. "Speaking of heroes, what happened to all the other heroes?"
"Look human I don't usually do this, but I'll give you a hint: due to your red eyes, the ability won't have an effect on your physical appearance."
They're all currently asleep. Could I ask what's in your hand"
"oh this? It's a cigarette; people in my world light the tip and inhale from the filter."
"Is there any practical reason for it?"
"Not really, maybe stress relief, but mostly it's just a habit I've picked up over time."
"Could I try it out?" "Sure." I handed it to him and activated nightmares eyes.

My vision became so clear that I could calculate the distance, weight, and speed of anything with just a glance, but I couldn't analyze him
Dennis attempted to inhale the smoke but began coughing uncontrollably, and returned the cigarette.
"Everyone has their own coping mechanism, he said. but this isn't for me." "I prefer to find other ways to relax."
"So what are we doing tomorrow?" I asked
"We're heading to the underground combat arena in the morning."
"Combat Arena, I've never been quite the fighter." I awkwardly scratched my head. "It's just a sparring match to put your skills to the test."
I was startled awake by banging at the doorway: "Hero, are you awake?" "We've been trying to wake you for the last 2 hours; you're quite a negligent hero, aren't you?" I got out of bed and opened the door for the servant. "So, where are the other heroes?" I asked. "They're in the castle arena beneath the castle; follow me, and I'll take you there." We started walking through the castle's corridors, and Nightmare followed us silently. "This castle was built hundreds of years ago by our ancestors." "It must have a rich history, then." "Of course, this castle has been through more wars than I've been alive."
We came to a halt in front of a descending staircase, and the servant said, "This is where I leave, but before you go, if you're going to get rid of one of my servants, at least tell me about it."
I came to a halt but quickly regained my composure, and Nightmare burst out laughing. "Hahaha, what are you going to do now, human?" "So you know about that?" "Of course, I discovered Isabelle's corpse in an alley this morning, as well as the freshly cleaned sheets and floor, but don't worry, I got rid of it earlier this morning." "Am I supposed to pay you for this service?" "Honestly, you've done me a favor; she has been causing trouble in the castle, sneaking in at late hours and stealing, and I was planning on getting rid of her later on anyway." I activated Nightmare's eyes.

"What's your name?" "Michael Clark is at your service, Sir Hero, and I think you should be heading down now. I'll take my leave." Michael began heading down the hallway.
"Did you really think that was a good hiding spot for a body?" Nightmare asked
"Of course not." "what!?"
I kept walking down the stairwell. "The point of putting it there was to keep it out of the hands of higher-ups like Dennis, but I knew one of the servants would find it." The plan was to see how they would react, and the conclusion is that they are just as corruptible as mankind."
I reached the bottom, where there was a stadium-like structure with thousands of seats, and in the center were the six students who were still wearing their uniforms. I walked up the stairs of the arena and sat down in the empty seat Now that you're all here, how about we all introduce ourselves? said the armored man. "I am Commander Yager, the military's general , I'm from East Sera and a Rolls Academy graduate. " "I'll go next!" exclaimed a blonde girl.
"My name is Kellen, and I'm a future singer from Planet Yadrat!" She appeared outgoing, but there was nothing to worry about. "My name is Kiaoto, and I'm from Planet Fen," the brunette boy replied.
"My name is Flay, and I'm from Planet Mossa," the dark-skinned boy replied. A calm and collected person, he seemed to be the least annoying of the group, but there was something different about him.
I'm Venessa; I attended Gray Academy, and I specialize in long range combat." She added confidently.
A military personal, that should be interesting.
"I'm Chris from planet Terra, and I'm also an athlete." Based on his physique, he was lying; it appeared more aesthetic than practical. It seemed unlikely that he would excel in combat.
"I'm Diane, and I'm from Galvan Prime." It's a pleasure to meet all of you." A polite raven-haired girl replied. She seemed out of place in a battle arena with her good manners and posture, but no one is this perfect. It was now my turn. "I'm Ryan Mcvite, and I'm from Earth." Chris burst out laughing. "Your planet is called dirt?" Hahahaha!" "Pardon me, but I believe it is time we begin," the knight said, clearing his throat. Ryan, we've wasted enough time waiting. Ryan and Chris have the first fight."
An evil grin appeared on Chris's face, and we both walked to the opposite ends of the arena and stared each other down. "Begin!" the knight shouted. Chris charged at me, and I immediately activated Nightmare's eye.

Hero's strength: by using the strength of a hero, the user's strength increases by 2x for 30 seconds, capabilities increase with every level.
Using Nightmare's Eye, I could see everything, and it felt like time itself slowed down. I easily dodged his punch and returned with a swift kick to the chest, but he quickly recovered and retaliated with a powerful counterattack, grabbing my leg and slamming me into the ground.
Of course, due to my levels, I wasn't harmed at all but I was the only one who knew this.
Ryan, are you ok?" Diane asked, her concern evident in her voice.
I smiled and assured her that I was fine: "Yeah, I just need to sit down for a second."
Chris continued to gloat about his victory, and Diane helped me walk to the sidelines.
I thanked her for her help and took a seat, trying to catch my breath and regain my composure.
"Ok, next up, Kiaoto, Hero of agility, and Flay, Hero of the mind." announced the knight.
"Hey, do you want some chocolate?" asked Diane
"I guess so."
She reached into her pocket, pulled out a bar of chocolate with an unknown brand, and handed it to me.
"It's the last I have, but I think after that beating you received, I think you deserve it."
"Thanks"
23 April 1982
It was 9 p.m., everyone was asleep, and my father was at work. I sneaked out of my room and down the stairs to the kitchen. When I got to the kitchen, I noticed the jar of chocolates on top of the cupboard. I grabbed a chair and started trying to grab them when the front door suddenly opened. When I saw my father walk in, I panicked and fell off the chair. I landed on my arm and heard a horrible popping sound. My eyes welled up with tears, and I cried out, "Daddy, please help me!" My father simply stared from the doorway, not making a sound, and behind him was my older brother Ryan, whose shirt was covered in a red substance, and his gaze seemed unfocused and blank.
Ryan walked right past me and up the stairs. My father began to approach me slowly. "Dad, please take me to the hospital!" "But then you wouldn't be able to learn your lesson." "Please, I promise I'll never do anything bad again." "My father laughed and asked, "Is that why you think I'm upset?" Certainly not." He knelt down and looked me in the eyes. I froze as his blue eyes began to turn a deep red. At that moment, I realized who my father was.
a Demon. "I'm upset that you were caught." He gently grabbed my arm and popped my shoulder back in with one swift movement. I didn't scream, nor did I cry. I was terrified.
The fear I felt overwhelmed all my senses. I couldn't move an inch.
"That didn't hurt too bad, did it?"
