Chapter 27 - The Ultimate Summit

"Master, can we learn all of these martial arts?" Li Wuya's face was full of anticipation as he looked at Ye Mo.

Ye Mo glanced at Li Wuya and replied, "Martial prowess lies in depth rather than quantity. People have limited time and energy, so it's best to choose something suitable for oneself and specialize in it until reaching the pinnacle."

"In Da Chu, there are five Grandmasters who have achieved ultimate mastery in their respective fields. They surpassed others by devoting themselves to their chosen areas and achieved achievements beyond comparison."

Li Wuya's eyes brightened, "Grandmasters? Are they really powerful?"

Ye Mo smiled, his gaze shining, "Martial practitioners are categorized into nine levels. Those who reach above the ninth level are all extraordinary experts."

"Beyond the ninth level is the realm of ultimate mastery. In the two hundred years since the establishment of Da Chu, there have been quite a few ninth-level masters, but the number of ultimate masters is still fewer than ten."

"Currently, Da Chu boasts five Grandmasters: Bei Dao, Nan Quan, Xi Zhang, Dong Jian, and Zhong Zhang. Their martial skills are exceptional, and anyone practising martial arts holds them in the highest regard."

As he spoke, Ye Mo's eyes glittered with a radiant light, a mix of yearning and unwillingness deep within his gaze.

Li Wuya's eyes also flickered with anticipation.

Seeing her ambition, Ye Mo's lingering regret faded instantly, replaced by the twitch of his eyelid.

This girl was way too self-assured!

Li Wuya noticed Ye Mo's gaze and smiled, asking, "Master, what level of martial artist are you?"

Ye Mo fell silent for a moment, then said, "I'm not even close to being a martial artist."

Uh...

Li Wuya was at a loss for words about how to respond. After a moment, she asked again, "Then, what level are we now?"

Ye Mo fell silent once more. "You haven't really fought."

"We have, we've had real fights."

Li Wuya interrupted Ye Mo, "Master, you forgot that we killed two Beiyan operatives a few days ago."

Ye Mo didn't really want to talk to her anymore. "That was an ambush, not a real fight. It's hard to judge based on that." Seeing that Li Wuya wanted to say more, he changed the subject.

"The martial arts manuals you've brought back are precious and comprehensive. With these, your choices have expanded. However, not everything will suit you. Take some time to think about what suits you best."

Li Erya looked puzzled, "But, Master, how do we know what suits us?"

Ye Mo patiently replied, "Think about what you enjoy and excel at in your daily life." Seeing Li Erya still looking confused, he added, "Or consider what you are naturally good at."

Li Erya pondered and said uncertainly, "I'm good at catching grasshoppers." Every year, she used bamboo sticks to clear the grasshoppers from the Li family's fields.

The grasshoppers scattered everywhere, but she could accurately catch them with her sticks. Every time she saw a bamboo stick covered with grasshoppers, she felt a sense of accomplishment.

Plus, roasted grasshoppers were tasty, and she enjoyed catching them.

Ye Mo said, "Catching grasshoppers isn't easy. Your ability to catch them shows quick reflexes." He paused for a moment. "Sword techniques require a person's reaction speed. You might consider learning swordsmanship."

Li Erya didn't know much about martial arts, and she hadn't thought much about learning them. When she heard Ye Mo suggest learning swordsmanship, she immediately nodded, "Alright, I'll learn swordsmanship."

Ye Mo then turned his gaze to Li Wuya, as if asking what she wanted to learn.

Seeing his gaze, Li Wuya quickly spoke, "Master, I don't like fighting and killing. I don't want to learn anything related to knives or swords; it's too violent and doesn't match my personality." She intended to be a refined lady in this lifetime and didn't want to repeat the same path as her past life.

Ye Mo was caught off guard by her words and coughed awkwardly, looking at her in speechlessness.

Among the Li siblings, this girl was the most ruthless!

Ye Mo's face turned serious, "Then why do you want to learn martial arts?"

Li Wuya responded confidently, "Of course, it's to have the ability to protect myself. Learning martial arts doesn't mean I have to resort to violence."

Ye Mo sighed, "In that case, focus on cultivating your lightness skills. If your lightness skills are exceptional, others won't be able to catch up to you."

Li Wuya shook her head, "Just cultivating lightness skills isn't enough. It only helps me escape danger; it doesn't intimidate others. I need to learn something that can intimidate others and make them tremble at the thought of provoking me."

Ye Mo asked, "What kind of technique do you think can instil fear in others?"

Li Wuya smiled as she took out a human acupoint diagram and several manuals on acupoint manipulation, "I think acupoint manipulation is great. It's effective both in close combat and from a distance, and it's not too strenuous to learn."

When her spiritual power improved, she could project it onto objects using her internal energy. With the combination of internal energy and spiritual power, she could target and disable specific points on an opponent's body, making her invincible.

"Long-range attacks?"

Ye Mo chuckled, "Performing acupoint manipulation from a distance requires profound internal energy."

Li Wuya confidently declared, "I can do it."

Ye Mo sighed inwardly.

Back in his training days, his master had found ways to encourage him, urging him not to lose hope. But now, his disciple was more confident than him and didn't need his encouragement at all.

Well, it was best for him to keep quiet.

Seeing that Li Wuya had finished speaking, Li Qilang quickly voiced his thoughts, "Master, I don't want to learn swordsmanship or any other techniques that require effort. Is there a technique where I can stand still and defeat my enemies?"

Ye Mo felt truly exhausted.

The seventh brother and fifth sister were indeed like twins, equally lazy.

They didn't want to learn martial arts because it was tiring. Maybe they shouldn't learn at all!

A technique where one could defeat enemies without moving? Ye Mo glanced at the books in the bag and realized there was such a technique.

"You can learn Soundwave Technique!"

Li Qilang's eyes lit up at the prospect of an effortless technique, "Alright, alright, I'll learn that!"

With the martial arts choices settled for the three siblings, Li Wuya handed another manual to Ye Mo, "Master, is Great Strength Diamond Palm an external technique? Can my father learn it?"

Ye Mo nodded, "Yes, it's an external technique. Your father can learn it, but it's better if he adjusts it according to his own circumstances. The same goes for all of you."

"If the creators or disciples of these techniques are still alive, they might come looking for you once they discover you've stolen their techniques."

Li Wuya nodded, showing understanding, "Master, don't worry, we'll learn from the strengths of various techniques and create our own unique style."

Ye Mo was left speechless by her confidence and chose not to respond.

Under Ye Mo's guidance, Li Changsen started practising the Great Strength Diamond Palm, Li Erya focused on swordsmanship, and since there was no sword available, Li Changsen made her a wooden sword.

Li Wuya delved into acupoint manipulation, and Li Qilang practised Soundwave Technique.

During Ye Mo's second break, Li Sanlang returned from his leave. After discussions, considering his immense arm strength, he began training in fist techniques.
