Chereads / The Mage of Eternity / Chapter 8 - Bad Luck

Chapter 8 - Bad Luck

" Instant spell?!"

"Is that really the power level of a rank 1 stage 1 mage?"

"Boss. That fireball is a little big."

"Boss..."

When An Kai revealed his strength, Reid and the others instantly admitted defeat.

With their experience, they had never seen anyone cast spells instantly and two at once!

In addition, the fireball was more than twice the size of what they had seen before!

It made them feel fear towards An Kai's strength.

In an instant, the thought of running away appeared in their minds.

However, An Kai was not going to let that happen!

The fireballs in his hand were thrown out, one towards Reid and the other towards the warriors behind him.

After the fireball was thrown, two more fireballs appeared in his hand and flew towards the two warriors on his left and right.

"Vine Armor!" Reid saw the fireball flying towards him and immediately shouted!

Vines appeared on the surface of his body.

However, his resistance was of little use!

The Fireball smashed onto his body and instantly destroyed the vines!

He fell to the ground!

Before Reid could catch his breath, another fireball flew towards him!

Bang!

.

The other three warriors suffered the same fate. They used all their strength to block the first Fireball. Before they could catch their breath, another Fireball came crashing down.

Reid hated the merchant who sold him the detection device. The unscrupulous merchant had scammed him!

Instant-cast spells, coupled with an unfathomable amount of mana storage, he was able to throw out so many Fireballs without batting an eyelid. This was definitely not a rank 1 stage 1 Mage!

Five minutes later.

Reid and his three warriors were stripped naked. Their bodies were black, and there was a faint smell of roasted meat.

An Kai was eating the roasted meat used by Reid for bait. His expression was gentle, as if he had met an old friend. He slowly said, "Tell me everything. If you lie to me, I'll feed you to the thorn worms."

Reid survived. Before he died, he said that he had a membership card for the Rewards Tower in Chaotic City.

There was also a quota inside his card, and he could buy things.

When An Kai asked how many low-grade sorcerer's stones he could buy, Reid replied that he could buy about 30.

At that time, An Kai decided to let Reid off.

At the very least, he wouldn't kill him now.

An Kai had heard a thing or two about the Rewards Tower from Hanks. After all, Hanks loved to brag about his Rewards Tower membership.

Hanks had told An Kai that the membership card could only be used in person.

Otherwise, An Kai wouldn't have kept Reid alive.

.

Twenty minutes later.

An Kai made a decision.

He decided to go to the only city in the desert with Reid, Chaos City.

In the past, he had only heard of the name and had never really been there.

It was also related to his lack of money.

According to Hanks, Chaos City was the true holy land of the desert.

There, as long as you had gold coins, you could buy anything!

Including the throne of the Duchy!

Similarly, within chaos city, the reward tower was the most famous.

Over there, as long as one had enough money, you could hire someone to assassinate the ruler of a country.

The reason Reid and his three Warrior guards were able to improve so quickly in a year was that they had met a fallen noble by chance.

Coincidentally, this noble had a bounty on his head in the Rewards Tower.

The poor noble thought that he had met a good person, but in the end, he was sold to the Rewards Tower by Reid and the others.

The resources they exchanged allowed the four of them to successfully advance into their professions.

As for the four of them, each of them had a membership card. If they gathered together, they could exchange for about 30 low-grade sorcerer's stones.

If Reid hadn't told him this information so quickly, An Kai would have already broken the necks of him and the other three warriors.

Reid and the other three walked in front with their hands tied. An Kai walked at the back like a shepherd.

He played with the detector in his hand.

With a thought, a warrior's rank appeared. Second rank of stage one.

The three warriors displayed were all at the same level. Then, An Kai aimed the detector at Reid.

"Stage one, third rank? How are you that weak?"

Reid heard An Kai's muttering and smiled awkwardly. He didn't respond.

He thought to himself, 'Am I weak? You're too crazy! How could there be a First Stage First Rank Mage who could instantly cast a spell? Plus, you have crazy endurance too!'

..

..

"Hanks, if you don't earn money, how are you going to support me?"

"Hehehe, what do you know? Today, I suddenly had an inspiration that an honoured guest is about to come!"

In Chaos City, Widow Wang was standing behind a stall at the entrance of the city. Her eyes flashed, and she slapped Hanks on the back of his head.

"You son of a b * tch, I've been hearing you say that for a month!

"If I had known earlier, I would rather die in the small town than suffer here with you!"

Hanks was shocked and quickly stood up to cover Widow Wang's mouth.

"Keep your voice down. Keep your voice down. They're all watching."

"Hmph!" Widow Wang glared at him, but she did not curse out loud. "Hanks, if you don't get the gold coins back today, you don't have to come back to bed!"

After saying this, the widow swayed her body and walked into the Chaotic City, leaving Hanks with a doting look on his face.

After he left the town with Widow Wang, he settled down in chaos city.

Hanks continued to do his old job, being a fence.

Unfortunately, primal chaos city had many trading places, and it was a huge blow to his business.

Hanks could only wait at the city gate every day, waiting for people who came here for the first time. He would trick them into selling or buying some items.

Although the business was not as good as in the Unnamed Town, Hanks lived a comfortable life.

Widow Wang's companionship had rekindled his lonely heart.

Over the past year, Hanks believed that the best decision he had made was to kidnap Widow Wang when he escaped from the town.

Of course, Hanks would often think of that little rascal whenever there was no one around.

He was young, but he could provide him with rich benefits. Of course, An Kai was also a ruthless person.

If it weren't for his strong strength, An Kai would have targeted him a long time ago.

He had seen many times that An Kai gave him a fierce look.

"I wonder how the town is doing? Considering that guy's character, he must have run away long ago, right?" Hanks basked in the sun and couldn't help but reminisce about the past.

"Sir, chaos city is ahead. Can you... Let us... go?"

"Oh? Do you want to die? I can fulfil your wish!"

Suddenly, Hanks seemed to have heard the wrong words.

He stood up and looked into the distance.

Behind the four people who looked like charcoal, there was a handsome young man holding an iron sword.

He looked like he was going to chop the four burnt men in front of him.

Hanks rubbed his eyes. He had never expected to meet that kid.

Hanks' professional instincts allowed him to instantly scan the four of them. From the four naked charred figures, Hanks could already confirm that whether or not he could get into Widow Wang's bed depended on An Kai!

"Hey! Noble Mage! Long time no see!"

An Kai heard the shout and looked over. He smiled and muttered, "This is such bad luck!"
