By the time he got home, Sang Lingzhu still hadn't left, and Shu Ting, because of work in the eastern district tonight, had to work overtime at the Law Enforcement Bureau. Seeing Sang Lingzhu and Zeng Yu lying on the bed made Wu Gang feel much better.
"You're back."
Sang Lingzhu instantly opened her eyes as if she had been maintaining a very high level of alertness all along.
"What's wrong?"
Wu Gang looked at Sang Lingzhu, puzzled, and asked, "I was very quiet, how come you woke up?"
Wu Gang felt that Sang Lingzhu waking up wasn't a coincidence, but an inevitable result of her high level of alertness.
"I'm fine, just didn't sleep deeply. Any little sound can wake me up," she said.
Sang Lingzhu smoothed the hair from her face, still dressed in the same clothes from the evening. Even for sleep, she merely leaned against the edge of the bed.
Wu Gang sat on a chair, his expression serious, and said to Sang Lingzhu, "Old Sang, is there something I don't know about?"
