Back home, Wu Gang saw Shu Ting washing fruit and casually asked, "How come, Officer Shu, you're back so early today!"
"I didn't go to work, so naturally I came back early." Seeing Wu Gang and Zeng Yu return, Shu Ting quickly put down the fruit in her hands and headed for the kitchen.
"Have you guys eaten yet? If not, I'll start cooking."
"We've eaten!" Before Wu Gang could speak, Zeng Yu interjected.
"Little brother took us out for a yummy meal."
Hearing Zeng Yu's words, Shu Ting suddenly stopped in her tracks, turned her head, and with a somewhat strange expression, stared at Wu Gang and Zeng Yu, saying, "What do you mean, 'us,' Zeng Yu?"
Wu Gang was dumbfounded, his face looking rather unpleasant as he watched Zeng Yu speak and then immediately run back to her room and lie down, leaving Wu Gang alone to face Shu Ting.
Confronted with Shu Ting's questioning gaze, Wu Gang felt that something was amiss.
