What do we exactly know about our world? Nothing. We simply know nothing. We act like we know to simply to trick ourselves into feeding our delusions and ego. I remember being little once. The only thing I would want to do was become a Super Saiyan. It was to the point my Dad had to lecture me that it wasn't real. I remember once in lunch, I was screaming to exhaustion as I did a charging pose to becoming a Super Saiyan as I was about to fight someone, and instantly passed out from straining myself out.
But that's not the point. It's amazing how authors create many scenarios of superpowers right? But what's even more interesting is that we all gotten ideas from something similar. It's like everything around us. That fancy glass table was once a roughed up uncleaned wood pieced up together to hold something. It's our imagination that we use to create ideas. And so, what stuck me was what exactly originated the idea of magic or superpowers in a way?
Still confused? Let me explain it this way. Think of a new color. Impossible right? Maybe you can somehow with mixing everything, but thats the entire idea! We originate from something to create and innovate things! And so my question is, why isn't magic real? Stupid right? A 21 year old still believes in magic. You damn fucking right. Believe it or not, how the hell did we get the idea of magic? Simple. It simply existed one point. Then why did it disappear at one point?
Laws. You must be confused, or have an idea because you're delusional as I am. Just like how in our planet, laws must be maintained to keep peace and order. It's the same with magic and all the strange phenomenons. Earth Laws. That's what it's called. And so-
"Ah shit!" I looked down on my red square patterned white pajamas soiled with the Iced Tea that I knocked over. I closed my journal as I stood up to clean myself up. I flinched as I looked over to my ringing phone.
"Who the hell is calling me at 2 am?" I looked over as if I was peaking at something.
"Yanyan?" I picked up and replied in a questioned manner.
"VICENTE!! I told you not to call me that!" She exclaimed.
"Yams! Yammy! Yanyan! Pick your poison." I jokily said.
"Anything but Yan Yan. But anyways, I gotta tell you something so badly." She stuttered at the end. It sounded like she was nervous for the first time.
"Y-yeah? W-what is it?" I replied as I stuttered on my words.
At that moment. Every second felt like an hour. Its as if time was slowed itself.
"Actually, I'll tell you when I come meet you okay?" She chuckled.
"That's not fair! You can't leave me on a damn cliffhan-" The sudden realization to what she said. The adrenaline rushed through me as I realized what she said.
"WAIT, YOU'RE VISITING ME? WHEN? " I excitedly screamed over the phone.
"Wow, I didn't think you'd be this happy." She happily chuckled, with an obvious smile after.
"Tomorrow actually! So you better pick me up from the airport, okayy!" She said slowly at the end with great expectations.
"Of course! I can't wait." I said
"You don't have to smile that big Vin." She jokily said.
"How could I not? We've been best friends for years and we can hang out again!"
"Yeah yeah, just saying you still owe me Boba from that last bet. Oh and my favorite plushie too! Ill see tomorrow then rightt Vin?" She excitedly said.
"Of course! Let's save the energy for tomorrow I guess." I said
"Mmm okayy! Adios" She said in her accent.
The entire day, I couldn't wipe this big smile from my face. My glazed expression turned into the most energetic expression ever.
2 Hours before the arrival, I was already ready. The clean white shoes, a earthy beige with warm undertones and a black sweater that comfortably fits right. Not too bad.
I was a bit early waking up and so I scrolled through my phone with music playing. All I could think of as I endlessly scroll, was her. She's my best friend. But I started to develop feelings for her after a certain time. She was always there through the good and bad. A few years ago, after my break up with my ex, I rotted in my room. I lost all my ambitions and goals. There was nothing I could really do but run away from my pain at that time. And so I played games because it was the only thing I could really do back then. But then I met my friend at that time. She was quiet but reserved in a well mannered way. I basically met her through a friend while playing on a game. Crazy right?
We all exchanged contact information as we went off. I simply didn't pay attention to anything until I got a notification at 3am in the morning. Who would've thought it was YanYan. We talked quite a bit, but I didn't think much of it. Skipped a few months and now we both talk to each other and even call a few times. It was the day where I saw my ex being happy with someone else. I looked over and she saw me. The rage and disgust controlled me as I walked away. Far away enough from people, I keep myself from hurling. My legs started to weaken. It's weird. I'd never thought I would be in a position to where my legs would feel anchored to the bottom of the sea as I try to fight standing up. I scrapped the tree infront of me, punching it till I can beat out the feeling I had. At that moment, my phone started ringing. I picked up with my splintered hand, staining my phone with red.
"Hello." I calmly tried saying, with a grasp of air and choking on my vowels. Why did I even pick up? What am I doing again? What should I be doing?
"Vicente? Hey! What's wrong? Talk to me!" She worriedly said as her speaking got faster.
Was it those words I wanted to hear that time? Was it the feeling to be wanted again? Or was it simply being pitied or given attention?
"You don't have to talk. Just stay on the phone okay? I'm worried about you. So i'll take care of you today."
"Mhm." I weakly said, as I uglily cried, sniffing the snot. That day, where YanYan saved me, became instantly engraved within my memory. After that, our trust strongly grew stronger. The once rotten little foolish boy who kept his feelings bottled, let loose for once. Even after that, my feelings grew stronger after she opened up as well. I always thought she was a happy and well off woman. But I was entirely wrong as well. She also had her problems. Problems that she never shared to anyone except to 2 people. And she gave me that privilege and trust. It felt for once, someone wanted to put their trust in me. Someone who was so kind and awkward, who had been betrayed many times and endured suffering wanted my help. I can finally thank her today for all of it.
I was daydreaming of what would happen, as I drove to the airport. As I arrived, I rechecked everything, carrying her favorite flowers with her plushie she always asked for. I smiled and walked in waiting for her.
"Flight 89, is arriving in 2 minutes." The speaker vibrated throughout the entire place.
I couldn't contain my smile for so long. I stared at the sky seeing the plane in the distance. As I stared down the plane I see a slight crack next to it.
"Ah, the glass window is cracked." But the closer I looked it wasn't the window. It was in the sky. A slight crack, forming into branches. A blink of an eye, the crack turned into dark eerie clouds encircling the cracks, as an aura of lights filled with indescribable colors start to bloom out. The sounds around me start to mute itself as my heart rapidly starts beating. A bright flash across the world shinned.
Laws are suppose to be maintained to keep peace and order. And so what if an Earth Law was broken? Simple. A Trial has to be set.
