While the method were a bit flimsy at best considering we just passed through Blax Tank just like that, we did get to get inside of the fortress faster than expected. To be quite honest, even I would do this kind of trickery just like how Yumiko does it. With my bounty hunting background, I most certainly am could be doing that. In any case, we were finally able to run through this large labyrinth.
As we continued to make our way there, Zenith stopped and told us, "I think that's enough of running guys..."
"What's going on, Zenith?" Sam wondered.
She replied, "There's no need to rush for this. Look over there." she pointed toward a large door not too far from us. "I bet someone's waiting behind that door. So how about we get ourselves ready before we go further?"
I agreed to her, "That sounds like a good idea. You can never be too sure about these things sometimes."
Exactly, this is one of the important thing especially for a bounty hunter like me. And that was making sure all of my equipment work out or not. Taking a look back at what I have right now, I made sure to tie my hair into a ponytail so that my long hair won't be harassing my vision. I'm not really the type to be wearing fancy clothing especially when practicality is the most important thing for me during a mission. So, I always ended up wearing something simple like a tank top as well as this leather pants and some hard boots.
Of course, I would definitely look plain as ever had it not be because of my small backpacks on my waist. I kept a couple of essential things inside those. I also have my trusty bow and quiver at my back. I think that's about it to say the least.
"By the way, Fitz." Blanc suddenly had a question. "I've been wondering..."
"About what?" I asked.
She then questioned me, "What's it to you between White anyway? Aside from Izzy and Rika...I can't think of another motive aside from you having the same kind of complicated relationship as the others."
My face flushed red as I denied her, "No! That's not it!"
She chuckled, "Then why are you raising your voice? I'm just asking."
"Well..." I tried to make some sense. "It's not like I don't have any feelings towards him or anything but..."
"So you're not denying that..." she slowly nods.
"No!" I yelled. And then I lowered my voice once again, "It's just...I hate him sometimes."
"You hate him sometimes? How does that correlates to you having a connection with him?" she wondered.
I explained to her, "It's more about whatever the heck he promised me." I sighed. "He promised me that he'll be helping to do more bounty hunting but I guess that's a no go now considering how things have transpired."
"You mean Zenith?" she thought.
I shake my head, "No. Not her. It's just a typical promise that he'll probably forget. Besides, everyone did separate themselves after high school ended. I figured that White would at least asked what I'm doing and then we can decide from there. But then he enrolled here...that idiot."
"I see." She nodded. She then assured, "I tell you what. I don't really know how much of person he was back in high school. I'm sure he's just got caught in a lot of things considering what happened by the very end of his year in high school."
"Yeah...you're right...His team did lose The Magic Duel...to my team..." I looked down. "Maybe he just has a lot in his head that he eventually forgot about our promise to do hunting together. It's always been my favourite past time with him."
"Hey, you can always hunt me if you want. I am a monster after all." she joked.
"What kind of joke is that supposed to be?" I said that but I kinda laughed at it as well.
Zenith then told all of us, "Are you guys prepared?"
I told her, "Yeah. We're ready."
"Great. Let's get going then." Zenith pushes the door in front of her.
We were then greeted by a hall that was weirdly decorated with trees planted to the ground. Some were dead and some looked lively. Grasses was also all over the place and the ground itself seems to be dirt from the way it felt on my feet. At the end of the hall, there was a person waiting for us. It was someone that I know. He looked awfully familiar. In fact, both White and I defeated him already in the past.
I spoke for his name, "Silverbite...so you made it alive..."
The Chaos Werewolf himself, Silverbite.
"You didn't finish the job, Fitz Triangulum. I barely survived from the mess you two did back at Eveiht."
Yumiko then interrupts, "I thought you were caught by that one officer...what happened there?"
Silverbite replied, "Then you were mistaken, Yumiko. I've had help from the other Chaos Champions."
"Hmm..." Then I told him, "Then can I assume that the other Chaos Champions are waiting behind that door?"
"Precisely." He nodded.
"Well..." I sighed and I looked behind me, "Hey guys. Can I handle this guy?"
Yumiko shrugged, "I don't know."
"Sure you can." Zenith nodded. "We'll take it from here. We will take care of the other Champions."
Silverbite then whispered, "Good...just as he planned."
I heard that and said, "So you're letting my friends go through but in turn, I have to keep you in check. Is this how we're playing?"
"I can't take against all of you. So are we doing this duel or not, lady?" Silverbite challenges me.
I nodded to the others as they made their way to the door behind Silverbite. They all go through the door and left me behind on my own against the werewolf. Now it's just between me and The Chaos Champion, Silverbite. After the event in Eveiht, I did thought about 'is it really over?'. I guess this was where it will come to an end somehow. It all comes back to me. The difference this time was that I'm all alone without Yumiko, Zen or even White to fight the werewolf.
It sounds scary but I feel a lot more better than I ever was after having that brief discussion with Blanc just a few moments ago. It made me feel a lot better than I should be. Last time, White and I did the finishing blow against Silverbite. Some kind unofficial Fusion Reactor.
As I continued to think for myself, Silverbite did not wait for me. He immediately run toward me on all four. He quickly pounced on me as my back suddenly hit the ground. Silverbite grounded me to the floor with one of his claw.
"No time to dawdle around, girl. You may as well be shredded to pieces if you're not taking this seriously." mocked Silverbite.
He then stood up and threw me to a nearby tree. I crashed into said tree and some of the leaves started to fall down and buried me for a bit. Silverbite gave me some time to get up as he stared at me while doing a challenging stance.
I got up and said, "Alright, no holding back are we?" I took out my spear from my Dimensional Inventory and prepared myself.
The two of us then ran toward each other as both my spear and his claw meets each other. For the first part of the fight, a test of strength was in place. The two of us tried to push against each other with all of our strength using our armaments. The clinking sound of metal shifting between Silverbite's claw and my spear can be heard echoing the hall. At first, Silverbite was overpowering me as he leaned forward in front of me but then I had a burst of adrenaline which I was able to push and lean myself and force Silverbite to take a single step back.
We were at an impasse as the two of us seemed to have the same amount of strength. Either that or Silverbite was belittling me in terms of strength. He was a werewolf after all. So in order to spice things up, I let myself down by purposely losing my strength as I carefully dropped down on my back. This makes Silverbite slightly caught off guard as I quickly initiated a certain martial art take down. Silverbite was immediately thrown to ground as I immediately do a kip up and tried to stab the champion with my spear.
Klang! The spear was immediately deflected as Silverbite forcefully backhanded it with his right claw. The spear was sent flying away to the end of the hall, leaving me open for attack. Silverbite gets up and tried to maul me but I proactively pushed him back by releasing a blowing wind using my wind manipulation magic.
"Of course...that wretched wind magic of yours..." Silverbite groaned. "I'll show you something new."
Silverbite then grit his teeth and gripped his claws to the ground as he began to howl as loud as possible. The soothing sound of the werewolf's howl was ear numbing as I covered both of my ear. Throughout the process, Silverbite's body has come to a transformation of his own. I don't necessarily know what happened but Silverbite bodily figure has started to transform into a different species entirely. What I assumed for him to only turn into a werewolf was gone as I witnessed him turning into a demonic creature.
"What the hell are you?!" I asked.
He didn't answer at all as he once again howled to the ceiling. Not wanting to get to an even worse situation, I brought out my bow and arrow and began shooting them at him. All of the arrow sinks deep into Silverbite's skin but he was unperturbed by it. In retaliation, I quickly ran toward my spear and grabbed it. I casted a special wind enchantment on the spear as I proceed to throw it as strong as possible toward the unfathomable creature.
My effort however goes to naught as Silverbite left hand caught the spear. He proceeds to break it in half using said hand. Just like that. Well then, there goes my favourite weapon. Even so, my spirit hasn't been broken yet as I still have a few trick up my sleeve. Silverbite finally stood up on his two feet as he angrily looked at me. It seems like he has lost any sense of communication as he furiously howled and ran toward me malicious intent.
Knowing full well what's about to happen I braced myself as I step back two feet behind while I began to power up my hands into a single position. Yes, this was the charging up process of the spherical wind bomb that I teach White several months ago. As the master of the spherical wind bomb technique, I must not disappoint my one and only student, White.
As soon as Silverbite was around 5 metre away from me, the spherical bomb that I was channeling has increased its intensity as more air was absorbed into the sphere. With Silverbite right at my death's door, I snapped my finger with my free hand. That snap instantly made me move to the right for a few step effortlessly as Silverbite misses his claw attack. It felt like I made an afterimage effect which makes Silverbite mistakenly attacking my afterimage. The very moment he misses his attack while I was on his left side, I countered by releasing the spherical wind bomb that was in my palm and send it right toward the creature's chest.
The spherical wind bomb, I haven't even though of an official name yet but it was a devastating move that has the potential to mess up a targeted organ of the receiver as the sphere furiously spins all over the skin of said target. The visible after effects would be having a circular shape over your body thanks to the furious spinning sphere. And not just that, if you are light in some form or another or the sphere are just too awfully powerful, your entire body will immediately start to spin around the same way as the sphere. This could lead into one possible route where I will let go of the sphere and the sphere will freely move to wherever the air pleases. It has a high chance to stop right after you are crashed into something solid. And that's what happened to Silverbite.
"How about that?" I was proud of what I did. "I think I'm going to officially call it...The Cyclone Sphere."
I would have celebrated the match but unfortunately I heard Silverbite's voice, "Not bad..." He suddenly got up from that tremendous attack, "But not good enough. I'm still standing, hunter."
"Why you..." I started to channel another Cyclone Sphere.
This time, It wasn't on one point only. I made two of them respectively on both of my hand. The air around me was beginning to get suck into the sphere I made. Leaves have begin to fly around furiously in the scene. Even the death trees have started to break some of its branches thanks to my absorbing wind. Silverbite once again try to pounce over me but this time I stomped one of my foot as it immediately pushed me up into the air by releasing a forceful wind at the stomping foot. Silverbite didn't see that one coming as I was able to jump over him.
As my entire body was completely right above him, I used one of my Cyclone Sphere to hit his head. It felt like I was using some sort of drill as I was grinding through his head. After that, my body continue to glide down in which I used both of my Cyclone Sphere to hit his back. The force of two Cyclone Sphere was devastatingly strong that almost all of the leaves even the green ones have fallen to the ground. Now I'm definitely sure that he has been dealt with.
"It's still not enough..." Silverbite slowly rises from the leaves. "Is that all you got, hunter?"
His clothing was already tattered and messed up. Some of his fur was already ripped apart from his skin. I could see bald spot as well as some scratches that was affected by my Cyclone Sphere. I could even see bones already. Oh my goodness. He was already injured but he seems to be standing and speak the same way as when we started.
"Impossible..." I tried to catch my breath. "How are you still standing?!"
Silverbite admitted, "You know why I'm down here? I was assumed to be the weakest of all of the Chaos Champions. But even those guys up there don't understand me. They don't know that I am far more resilient than any of them. Oh yes. This is all thanks to the Blood Moon that I summoned. And it's not just a normal crescent Blood Moon. It was a Full Blood Moon. Different than our last encounter..."
"The Blood Moon...of course..." I was on my knee as I finally reach my breaking point.
I couldn't think of another way to put a stop against him. But for all I know I still have my tools and equipment left. Maybe that can do something if I think very hard about it. But then again, if Silverbite is the weakest of them all...Then how will the other fare against the following Champions of Chaos I wonder...I hope you guys are doing well up there...
Because right now, the only thing I have left are my tools and I'll be using it all just to defeat him.
"Alright then, Silverbite. Bring it on!"
