Curious, she gently extricated herself from Elowen's embrace and reached for the device. It was a message from Caden, requesting her presence at the palace entrance for a meeting. He mentioned they would be leaving in ten minutes.
Reading the message, Aeliana's eyes widened slightly. "It's from Caden," she explained to Elowen, who looked up with a questioning gaze. "He needs me for a meeting and we're leaving soon."
Elowen sat up, her expression turning supportive. "You should go then. Duty calls," she said with a gentle smile, masking the disappointment of their morning together being cut short.
