A blinding flash of light caught the attention of everyone aboard the Olympus as several ships suddenly appeared from warp space. The vessels were sleek, with dark angular designs that looked both predatory and menacing.
Caden's eyes narrowed as he gazed upon the fleet. There was a sense of familiarity, a déjà vu that tugged at the corners of his memory. However, there wasn't much time to ponder the origins of these vessels.
"They're activating their weapon systems!" called out Ensign Lerin from the sensor station.
Solan, without missing a beat, toggled the ship's comm. "Fighter units, prep for engagement! Defensive formation Alpha. Protect the Olympus and be ready to strike on my mark."
The drone fighters, already in a grid, shifted their formation slightly, becoming a more formidable barrier between the Olympus and the new threats.
