Checking her office computer, Andrea confirmed that the initial findings from the detective's investigation into Simon had been made available in the case report.
"They must have managed to get this Friday night," Andrea mused, scrolling through the files.
"Anything useful?" Kyle asked.
"Hard to say," she replied. "I don't see anything from his phone or his email."
"We want something to confirm that Simon is the secret boyfriend," said Kyle. "We have his confession, and that really should be enough, but a prosecutor could argue he was hacked or under duress when he wrote that."
"There has certainly been enough manipulation of the evidence to make just about anything suspect," Andrea agreed. "But if we can corroborate… The phone would surely be the biggest piece of potential evidence. If Simon had been calling or texting Beatrix, if there were messages discussing their relationship, that would be a treasure trove of evidence."
