"Situation?" demanded Hawke. "What situation?"
If the guard hoped to give Hawke enough warning to prepare himself, he'd hesitated far too long. Before he could say anything further, Noelle burst into the room.
"Murder!" she cried. "This is what you call a little legal trouble, our son being accused of murder!?"
Andrea stepped into the room behind Noelle. The guard, who seemed too thrown by the situation to know what to do, made no move to stop her. She took some delight in seeing Hawke with an expression like a deer in headlights.
She could see that Kyle was also taking pleasure in his father's discomfort, right up to the point where Noelle rushed over and wrapped him in a fierce embrace. He seemed taken aback, almost like he didn't know how to react.
