Andrea realized she needed to change tack. She needed to get Steel on board with rescuing Kyle. He thought he was doing her a favor, protecting her from attempting a rescue that was doomed to fail. Not only wouldn't he help, he wouldn't even let her out of the car so long as he thought that.
