Vargas hadn't actually told them that they should stay nearby in case he had more questions… But Kyle and Andrea both agreed it would be a good idea. For the first time in what felt like forever, they went down to the courthouse cafeteria to eat.
As they lined up to pay for their meals, Kyle was evidently thinking similar thoughts.
"Remember the last we were here? Simpler times, huh?" he said.
Given how much better she knew him now, it almost felt weird to see Kyle eat cafeteria food! She had to remind herself that he was a foodie, not a food snob. He was happy to eat simpler meals, so long as they were good quality, and while not everything in the cafeteria was top notch, there were good things to be had.
